1.) They stop and we become friends.

2.) They disappear.

3.) They put me on their Ignore List because they're too imbecilic to ignore something that rattles their fragile emotions.

I recommend (1) for you, would prefer (2) and won't be surprised if you resort to (3).

It's on.

LOL at "very accurate".

It's the brand of the scale as well as a description, much like Lightweight.

the frame is ok, the ultegra gruppo is ok,
i can even swallow the specialized saddle
but those ritchey components and those wheels are just fugly.

I just bought the 6700 groupset with wheels for $1095 Canadian. Couldn't find Force for that price and include a comparable wheelset.

I have a Red equipped bike and Rival and I am very impressed with the 6700. Looks good and works good.

I agree that Di2 would be the only Shimano group to "upgrade" from Red. Nothing else makes sense as weight is the barometer for the advancement of cycling components and it doesn't make sense to me to spend more and go heavier when Sram is out there. Poor shifting is consistently the main complaint of 7900 and new Ultegra which is the a major issue for me. Crank is nice and stiff but look horrible.

 Are you seriously going to reference Velonews for real world prices? I'm glad I didn't just pay an extra $700 for the Dura Ace wheels I just ordered...

As for the shop talk, NY is relatively flat. I can power up any climb (or any that I have found so far) without changing gears too much.

Nevertheless, when I was out in CA with legitimate mountains consisting of multiple switchbacks, elevation changes, etc., it would have been nice--as in a novelty--to have Di2's mouse button shifting and auto-trim as opposed to SRAM Red.

At my level of riding, however, let's face it, Tiagra tuned by my hands is good enough. But make no mistake, Di2 is just better...

Not my part of NY.

Hell, in most of the areas I ride it's hard to go a mile without hitting a 200 - 1000 meter ball buster grinder hill with a 10%+ grade.

invwnut 02-13-10 09:09 PM

That bike is screaming for SRAM Red with a Force FD....

It might make an impression on you if you had to ride up that hill to get to your driveway a couple hundred times each year, particularly at the ass end of a 50-100 mile ride. Trust me on this.

MUZE 02-13-10 09:31 PM

Cervelo vs. Scott

You'd never confuse either bike with the other. They each are great looking in their own way and each achieves excellence in riding performance.

Congrats on the new addition.

Bear Mountain is not a mountain, it should be renamed Bear Hill. Plus, where are the friggin bears anyway?
