Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of bagels, I had a lightly toasted everything with cream cheese, lox and a little onion this morning - always guaranteed to satisfy.

That stuff is in everything. I stick with home-brewed iced tea - nothing but tea and water.

His own face. Contador's face is very weird and I would like it to be mutilated.

Contador does have a weird face and a fairly bland personality. I bet they love his skinny ass in Spain. He's probably some kind of friggin Big Sports Hero there too. Go figure.

Bikes: Something Canadian, something Italian, something American, and something German

MA is nice, except I have to keep my bike outside. This is upsetting.

Road Nazi ride!

It was 94F at liftoff. I was on-board for nine miles before I ejected out the back.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

How long is the ride?

Regardless, keep going back. If you annoy only one Road Nazi, you have done Pcad's Holy Work.

Lady Gaga is fat. I bet Madonna would crush her soul on a good climb.

Just so long as The Other Other Zach doesn't show.

I'm down 50 pounds to 165 thanks to being a carb nazi, not that anybody particularly cares. I just like bringing up the 50 pound thing at every opportunity.

The most knee slapping preposterous aspect of the 33 is that they take this cycling crap seriously. They do. Really. I've seen it in person. I am not kidding about this.

I just wish that weight loss did me a stich of good here in the flatlands. I've seen pictures of hills.

There's a lotta hills where I live. I'm sure there are very hilly places in Ohio. But I've driven through the flat part. It's very flat.

40-42 miles.

There's a gentle down stretch where on good days I hit 25 mph solo. This evening those idiots were going 30-31 mph. What are they trying to prove?

I have moles. PBS is trying to freak me out with a program on melanoma. Yikes.
