How about Chavanel today? I love moments like that in races like the TdF.

coasting 07-05-10 02:24 PM

i read there was a bit of crashing in yesterday's stage. is it worth looking up on youtube or whatever is the best website for coverage

It was complete and utter chaos, with a few desperate moments, and widespread spots of bother.

Whatever makes you think my observations are an attempt to change them? God grants me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Well, OK, not where the Mets are concerned, but then I am convinced that God is a Mets fan and She has a sense of humor. And She is laughing at me, not with me. Just like all of you.

The reality is, Pcad is a double agent and a provocateur. He has no loyalties other than to Sam, his Cervelo and his Scott.

I slept 10 hours last night, which tells me I need to lay off the riding shtick for awhile. It's just as well because I have no clean bike clothes.

Fixed.

The downstairs thermometer says 100º. I think it overstates the case. It's probably more like 95ºF.

It is supposed to be 97ºF here tomorrow. That still beats this stupid weather:

Note that the large gray A/C unit in the photo which is now keeping the house cool was completely and utterly buried (to paraphrase Paul Sherwin) in the storm we had this past February.

And I still have the best dog too. Just sayin'.

Frankly, I'm surprised those Treks Levi and Lance are riding don't just spontaneously detonate on Versus HD TV. Maybe they make the ones they give the team better than the Treks that keep breaking in the amateur ranks.

coasting 07-05-10 04:20 PM

why is it so hot and so cold in ny? why can't it be less extreme?

coasting 07-05-10 04:22 PM

that trek thread started by razor reappeared today and i have to say razor's trek sure is pretty. if it came as a non self destruct carbon version i might buy it. that red wine red is really good on a bike. much better than the bright ferrari red that most red bikes go for.

Then it would be like bland porridge. You know, like the UK.

I like the whacked weather. It was fun having four feet of snow in the yard this winter.

I swear the shelves are lower in NJ CVS stores than in DC. I usually have to look at eye level, or up, at home to find stuff. Here I look down almost always. I was also the tallest person in the store, whereas at home I'm kind of in the middle at 5 9. Strange.

Whenever you think the blather here can't get less relevant or more pointless, it does.

That's something.

Only 92F here. Still, the grass is toasty crisp because it doesn't rain here anymore.

coasting 07-05-10 04:37 PM
