lets all moan about the hot weather.

As I recall, you've been the only person to complain about the heat. I like it hot.

However, we do need rain. A couple weeks @ 90F without it really isn't good for anything.

not me brother! 65 miles in 97 degree heat today I had to stop twice and load up on fluids. freaking awsome!!!! I love it

but I am really wiped out right now.

I like the hot weather. The lack of rain is a bit of a drag. For example our underground sprinklers are useless because the well can't keep up with the water flow requirements. That's OK. The lawn gets crispy brown. By October it looks like a golf course again. I'm more worried about sustaining water pressure for showers and laundry than watering the stupid lawn.

You would think that with all that snow melt from late February (see photo above) and rain in March and April, the water table would be high, but we haven't had much rain in the past 90 days.

Hey pcad, since you ride so much and also run shimano ultegra. How are your bottom brackets holding up? have yoou had any trouble with it? Service? I have 2 6600 that are driving me nutz, The madone has a click and now my lightspeed has developed a clunk when out of the saddle. I am running out of bikes.

Herbie53 07-05-10 05:14 PM

I rode the Tuesday/Thursday night group route (plus a detour over to the river) at a blazing 14.7 mph today. There is some great scenery that I've never noticed before. The Garmin said the average temp was 100.2 F*.

Going slow is ok.

My dog is really, really, bad. But he is mine and is the best dog I've ever known.

A stupid newb question (probably). Did a search and can't search by just 2 numerals so asking here - what does 33 and 41 groups refer to that I see referenced a lot?

Remember - bike and bike culture newb.

Back out of this thread, then look at the url and what do you see? That'll answer half your question.

I named my cyclo-computer pcad, because every time I look at it it's like there's somebody yelling at me that I'm slow.

How about Chavanel today? I love moments like that in races like the TdF.

Yah, the long breakaway was awesome. Kind of disappointing that we never got to see the peleton try to chase him down though. Fabian probably at least stays in yellow if his teammates (and everyone else) didn't crash. That's a big what if though, obviously. Good to see the QuickStep guys take all the jerseys in their home country.

I believe pretty much everything stayed as it was except Chavanel got the yellow. Chased or not he deserved it.
