I just saw that thread. Where do these people come from? I'm happy just to not get hit or have something thrown at me, and dude goes ballistic because a kid yells at him?

Good grief.

last week I got hit with windshield washer fluid....it truely surprised me that no one that had thought to do that yet in my few years of riding. I smiled because it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other things tossed/yelled my way.

Is 495 feet climbed in 7.5 miles a lot?

Heh. That's what I just did, the suffering was at a max. I went down a hill and found it to be a dead end. Hooray for having to kill myself up a 16% grade in front of several very attractive women.

What about 138 in .83? That's my commute to work.

Closer, but even that is like a 3% grade.

Oh well. On my ride tonight according to Garmin there were some 16% grades, and a bunch of 8 and 9s.

could be... averaging can be disappointing.

I have seen the Garmin grade calculation get wonky if you get slow though. 16% is stout.

Shelled like a cheap pistachio. I can't remember the last time I did a race that fast. Every time I looked down we were going 28-30 mph. 22-23 mph up the hill. Ouch. Couldn't recover. The scary part is that as I'm peeling off the back my team mate Bernie was off the front with a 12 man break, pulling those idiots around non-stop. I don't know how he finished in that race, but they should all just have ceded the win to him since he was absolutely dragging them around for 5 laps. That guy is amazing. In terms of sheer aerobic mojo he is one of the strongest 35+ guys in NY that I can think of. I am confident the breakaway stuck, they had a 45 second gap with two to go.

Bernie took 2nd. He wuz robbed.

Think of this thread as the 41 Twitter Feed. Less ego, more stupidity, hairier legs.

Well, that Scott is nice, but it's no Cervelo.
