How come there's hardly any cycle chicks around Knoxville. Are they hiding in Florida?

I saw quite a few on the trail today. I'll start sending them your way.

Ziltoid 07-31-10 07:34 PM

You just made an happy man, too bad they'll turn back when they'll see him.

My sis is going to college at St. Johns in queens... More food for me!

Ziltoid 07-31-10 07:41 PM

Am I the only one commuting to college?

Velo Vol 07-31-10 07:42 PM

There's actually been a female at some of the Road Nazi rides who was still with the group when I got dropped.

That's embarrassing.

Ziltoid 07-31-10 07:42 PM

Don't sweat it, embrace your fredosity and cycle happy.

Velo Gator 07-31-10 07:44 PM

The (cough) women (cough) who go on the LBS group rides here are a little... scary...

Ziltoid 07-31-10 07:45 PM

They were named Robert and Richard and they want people to call them Melody and Sereny now?

How so?

Ziltoid 07-31-10 07:57 PM

I mean the College is in my town (it's not a community college), I'd be crazy to go elsewhere for a freaking BA, I'll look at ratings/standings of faculties once I'll be doing my Master, but for a Ba? No thank you, I'll save money.

Go near the beach bike path. Don't forget to bring a cruiser bike.

It's kinda obvious when you're "struggling" to maintain 8mph on your $2,000 carbon bike behind some chick in a bikini.

I feel like I just walked into the middle of a coversation already in progress. What college are you talking about?

What kind of career can you have in New Zealand?

No. The "there are" was to correct Gomer's impeccable speech of "there is".

pCad, you could save so much money sending her to a good suny for the first 4 years. Big money schools are SO over rated unless you are in one of the top 5 for specific majors.

If I wanted to save money I'd move to North Carolina.

Apples and oranges. NC might be cheaper, but so is the standard of living. On the other hand, some of the suny schools are right up there with the big $ private schools.

Trust me: 'NYU' carries more weight on a resume than 'SUNY'. So does the experience, contacts and exposure of going to school there. Is it worth the dough? Maybe, maybe not. All you can do is sign the big free agent. You can't make him hit 40 home runs.

It's a crap shoot.

Velo Vol 07-31-10 08:14 PM

This evening I rode up to Melton Hill Park in a secluded corner of NW Knox County. There's not a lot of amenities there: lake dock, swimming area, walking trail, beach volleyball court, and picnic pavilion. A large group was using the latter.

Another steamer with 80%+ humidity. Along the way I saw a couple deers bounding across open field. I'm such an outdoorsman.

Ziltoid 07-31-10 08:15 PM

Canada doesn't has even the quarter of the "college hip" that you guys have down there, it's so crazy, the amounts you guys pay, and the "weight ona resume" and all, wow...just wow.
