I got a second opinion and went down to 8 cavities and 2 root canals, no mention of the other stuff. While this still took several visits and really sucked, the fact that they were gonna drill me out a bunch of extra times (there was no pain on anything) just for money shocked me. I hate dentists.

I go to the dentist every 6 months and would average 2 cavities per year, and everyone in my family always had at least one per year. We finally got dental insurance and had to switch dentists, not a single cavity in the family for 2 years. I've thought of going back to do bad things to the old dentist.

Saw a guy riding one of these in North Beach today. He was going at a pretty good clip and looked like he might topple at any second. Hooray for the "safety bicycle".

Because clothing stores don't sell books.

No. They sell muffins.

Bookstores that is.

patentcad 07-31-10 06:33 PM

The clerk who rang me up @ the NYU bookstore today was quite the muffin himself.

patentcad 07-31-10 06:35 PM

That same clerk thought I meant Orange County, CA when I told him I was from Orange County. I told him our OC was only 60 miles from where we were standing. 'Oh..' he said, obviously clueless. 'I guess the next thing you'll tell me is you've never heard of Orange County Choppers.' I replied. He had not. I told him not to worry about it, that our county was rather forgettable.

At that moment I knew my kid had to go to college in Manhattan.

I had some delicious pizza this evening to make up for the loss of weight from mountain biking.

Mmm.

how comes sometimes you get on the bike and feel strong and other times you know immediately it is ging to be a struggle? i could barely get round a 40 mile route today and had to stop and rest after the first 10. I must be getting old.

So, first time on the mountain bike in like 7 years. Way out on an old rail trail, one of my RD pulley wheels decides to just fly off the bike. I've never had that happen before. Took me a minute to figure out what happened. Amazingly, I found the wheel, the screw and one of bearing seals on the trail. No bearing, no second seal. But, it was enough to get me home.

I do fight mine, you guys have no idea how much I regret not spending a few hundred more and have some 105 or rival or heck, even Tiagra.

I can't reach the thumb levers when I'm in the drops...

One of these times I'll model some real college wear.

Hey "Jen,"

How come there's hardly any cycle chicks around Knoxville. Are they hiding in Florida?
