Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey ijen0311,

After all of this buildup, why are you not out riding your new bike?

More importantly, why am I not riding my bike?

Jen, nice bike! Glad it's finally in your posession. But, what's with the cable routing?*

*see previous Pcad thread about his Cervelo.

Holy crap this thread is fast now let me catch up...

I was hoping someone would mention cable routing (thanks kidd)....too bad pcad is gone and can't get his panties in a bunch.

speaking of panties, I am pretty sure in the grand scheme of things womens underwear is more comfortable than mens under bike shorts because most girls under wear has a % spandex and not terrible seams everywhere.

EWR is Newark NJ VV, most major flights leave there and it is easier than getting to the NY airports. Most travel sites actually have Newark NY which is wrong but they are close.

Now back to me...I switched from my mon wed group/training ride schedule to a harder Tue Wed Thur plan with Tue being a hard group ride Wed have a breakaway(hard or Chase med or easy option) and thur being a training crit

I withstood the 3 days in a row fairly well here they are
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/43060748
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/43304886 (long warm up)
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/43304878 (I enabled the auto lap thingy here)

It worked out very well and I hope it preps me for 3 crits I have later this month.

PS coasting made some snide comment a few weeks back about us being similar sizes (fat) and me claiming to be faster, well Mr. limey try to match my awesome average speeds I have been achieving

I really like the addition of Crash and kinda like topgear too.

crash:
We do need a detailed account of how each bike met its untimely death.

also my wife is 5'0" (on a good day) and rides a 47 cm trek, but it is quite the comfort setup. it looks like you picked the right size based on the fairly agressive position. You are only a set of pedals away from being taken seriously

Bikes: 13 BH G6 with SRAM Red

The Fuji had 3 warranty issues because of the bottom bracket. Tom Roth of Fuji is a D***head.

The next specialized wasn't cool enough, honestly i just wanted more bike.

the small Sworks black specialized was just too small, i need like a 54/56 and it was a 52TT

The white specialized i loved, the bottom bracket cracked and specialized refused to keep making the white ones so i got the black one.

Loved the black one too but our team went to BH so i sold it for the BH.

The BH cracked at the front deraileur hanger so i had to warranty it

So i bought the Soul Faith and while i was waiting for it to get here i got a great deal on the CAAD9 frame and fork and i couldn't pass it up.

Rode it for 2 months, it was just a hair too small, mainly the headtube, again CAAD9 54's are small.

back on the Soul for a few weeks and i got my BH back and it's just such a good ride i decided i am going to sell the Soul and just ride the BH if that's the bike we keep.

Bikes: Something Canadian, something Italian, something American, and something German

There's a house near mine that had a tree fall through the roof in the store. A big 70 foot tree. Straight through the roof.

I would think you personally may benefit from holding onto a second bike.

How do the soul and caad compare?

they are almost identical in feel and stiffness. I would honestly give the nod to the Soul as it felt just as stiff but not as buzzy? If you've ever ridden aluminum you know what i mean by buzzy.

Kind of annoying. Spent like, 30 minutes trying to fix it. If I can't solve it tommorow, I'll bring it into the shop, as my bike is fairly
new. And no, I don't ride 100 meters a day. I ride around 146 meters a day.

Good to hear that you like your bike, Jen. Did you ride commando? Lol.
what sound is your bike making?

I'm pretty good at working on mine, less good at producing the desired result in a timely manner.

I dunno. I can feel it in the pedals sometimes (on the downstroke of the left pedal).
It doesn't happen when I stand and pedal, nor when I coast. I dunno.
The new bike sounds like a vuvuzela when I coast.
