I put my thread about this ride over in the Old Folk's Home:

For folks not familiar with the ride, here's the profile:
Also BF member Northbend did it on a FG (!):

I think your route would be a really nice ride and would shorten the overall miles. If I went up to do it on my this is what I'd follow. Plus you get to ride through Paradise.
Bengeboys route:

Yes 9 hours of moving time. I left the start at about 5:15 in the foggy dark. I think it was around 4 when I finished but I can't remember. I just started eating the free ice cream.

Looking at the profile not sure what flats you might be referring to, other than right at the start.

I've driven that on a car tons of times. Always wanted to do it on a bike.
Awesome pictures, sounds like you had a great ride.

Consider yourself lucky on the heat. I heard that last year the temperature going up Cayuse was around 105 degrees. I rode it this year, and it was the coolest of the three times I have done it, 2004 and 2006. I agree it is a great ride. Also, the headwind on the descent from the Crystal Mountain cutoff was less than normal. Overall, a perfect day for RAMROD. Good job.

I would have keeled over on that Cayuse climb if it had been 105..... Other than the morning fog the weather couldn't have been better for that ride this year. Hope I can get a spot next year. Otherwise I'll drag some friends up and do the shorter loop that was posted on mapmyride.com
