So hot. I saw it on PedalRoom first before I came here and I immediately recognized the fit (setback seatpost, slammed 120mm stem). How did you go about picking and purchasing the frame? Are there a lot of CAAD10s on your team? Just wondering because I picked one up this past January and I'm looking to join my school's team this fall.

Is there a source for a CAAD8 decal set, probably in white? I'm contemplating a repaint from BBQ to a burgundy metallic for later this year. If I can find a good set of decals the repaint becomes a lot more likely.
Thanks in advance. |
Different topic - I started putting the CAAD8 together and I think the frame is too big. Crap. This frame is really nice and I thought it might fit but it's just too big and I don't want to complete the build and have it fit poorly. I think a 50cm frame is the right size and I have a 52. My Bianchi is a 50cm and it fits well. File this one under "too good to pass up - maybe it will fit". Live and learn.
The frame is straight, very clean, and in excellent shape so I shouldn't have any trouble moving it on to someone that needs a 52. Does anyone have (or know of) a really nice CAAD8 frame in 50cm (need 68mm eng BB)? Thanks. |
I've had goodluck with Vittoria Ultralite. $5-7 look for sales. 85-90 grams smooth valve stems.

My steed atop Mt Mitchell.
Garmin data: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/170935610 Nearly 8,000 feet of climbing in 60 miles. Not bad for a hoosier. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T...d/IMG_2299.JPG |
Pro Vibe 7s round handlebar, stem, and seatpost. Stock bits went on the commuter. Also ditched the Tektro brakes for 105. Still getting the handlebar height dialed in.

I have a question for those with the CAAD10 3...is the Jet Black finish more of a gloss finish or somewhere between matte and satin? Thanks.

Thanks guys, I was deciding between the CAAD10 3 and CAAD10 1, but the CAAD 10 1 had such a sweet deal.
I ordered a CAAD10-1 for $2650, and I'm picking it up on Wednesday. While I anticipate the arrival, I'm going to look up methods of keeping the drivetrain clean and what not. Should I still post pictures even it's stock? |
Sold my CAAD. Consider this formal notification of my having left the cult.

I did love it and would have loved to have kept it but I bought a TT bike and couldn't afford to have both.

Once you're a CAAD you're a CAAD all the way, from your first cigarette to your last dying day. :D |
Take that, carbon treks!
Road Bike Action magazine, June 2012 issue:
The COVER article is a shootout between "$2000 budget bikes" - and they compare an (aluminum) CAAD10 with a (carbon) Trek Mad one er - Madone - 3.1. CAAD spanks Trek's butt :D |

Today I joined the cult...
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=247821 CAAD-10 Rival Sorry; no garage, so no garage door. Stem hasn't been lowered because I'm currently getting over some lower back pain from something not cycling related and didn't feel like trying to figure out saddle-to-bar drop with a stiff, aching back. |
My New CAAD 10
Here is my new CAAD10, pretty light compared to others I have seen.
