I have 2010 CAAD9-7 that I have converted to full Rival. I was thinking about selling the bike. However I have ridden this bike for the past couple weeks. I realize now that this bike can never be sold, it is like a long lost girlfriend that I would never get over.

I love my BMC, but it is just not the same as my CAAD. I may actually have the upgrade flu again, and will look into upgrading some parts on the CAAD

I vote for the gulf colors... because mine arrives next week. :)

I could go either way. Gulf-sponsored cars have beaten Ferraris, so blue-and-orange is the only color combo that's faster than red. :D

But, shiny aluminum does two things: It evokes the Century Series warplanes from the 50's and 60's, and it thumbs its nose at the carbon establishment.

Now that I think about it, some of us on BF a couple years ago were trying to think of custom paint schemes (I want to say we were using Trek's Project One thing) and one version that came up had Gulf colors. Now I wonder if Cannondale had noticed.

If you go to Cannondale website or Cannondaleplanet.com you should be able to find older model year website or catalog with the geometry chart. Easiest way to confirm size is match up the head tube length since that is easy to measure and most likely unique to each size.

Not sure if this helps, but I have a 2009 CAAD9 in size 52, and it measures about 52 cm from center of BB to top of seat tube... Not sure if this holds true for all sizes.

Hi All-

I joined the Cult and purchased a Black CAAD10 5 105 for $1500 plus tax at my LBS yesterday. Took it for a ride today and it is so awesome. So effortless compared to my MTB/Hybrid Bad Boy.

Thanks all!

Just finished piecing it together.

Most of the CAAD bikes shown in this thread have been heavily modified. Do you know if I buy new from dealer and change out the parts, am I still eligible for warranty frame replacement if there is a mfg frame defect?

Upgrading the parts does not void the frame warranty. You might have the shop where you purchased the bike change out the parts. It's usualy not very expensive and you are covered in case there any questions. I bought a black 10/5 frameset and had the shop build it up from parts I bought here and there. So my 10/5 is a better build than "off the rack", and cheaper too. Of course I had anthoer bike bike to ride while gathering all my parts.

Karcas,
That is a beautiful CAAD 10 4 you have. Looking forward to a report on how the 101's and the Pro4 perform.

I'm finishing up a CAAD8 build, and I don't know the best way to route the housings up front.

Would any be willing to take a photo of their bike from the front so that I can see how the housings are routed?

Thanks in advance.

Not a great pic, but a teaser none the less. The Rival shifters and the cannondale seatpost are the only remaining OEM parts that still has to be removed. The rest of the Sram Red-black pieces arrive Wed/Thurs; hoping to finish the build asap.

Just curious, who owns the other two bikes? Because I'd be extremely jealous if they were all yours.

primov8 05-29-12 02:11 PM

The Ridley Noah Pro was my most recent build. I had the S5 prior to the Noah but the looks didn't grow on me and after a test ride on the Noah, the S5 was easily forgotten.
The S5 in the pic belongs to my brother; he's waiting for Scott to fix their seatpost clamp issue and the S5 will be on the chopping block once they do so.

Nice looking 10 4 Primov8, that is the highest setting for a seat post I have ever seen. How tall are you? What is the drop between the seat's nose and the top of the bars?

Bill

Actually, that seatpost has been replaced with a KCNC Ti Pro Lite and sits about 10mm lower from that pic. I haven't measured the drop but its dialed up exactly to fit just like the Ridley, which has been the most amazing bike I've ridden so far in my 3-4 years of road cycling. I must admit, this Caad10 may actually come out lighter than the Ridley(15.3 lbs); I'm no weight weenie(6'0/200-210), but definitely impressed so far.

Whoa, I am 6'-1" and weigh ~ 245/240 and ride a 56cm on my 10 4 (Gulf Oil Racing Livery, or course!) and yours makes mine look like a kid's bike. All your bikes look sweet!. Thanks for the pics of the nestlings.
