Very nice! What did you think of zipp vs hed

dudemanppl 04-28-13 08:23 PM

Well the rim was obviously heavier, which means accelerating with the 303s is on another level, but the hubs are both of high quality and built quite nicely.

The fork is an EVO fork which I sanded the paint off of (still not done as seen by the bit of white near the crown).

hello all! newbie here. heres my CAAD 10 3, picked her up last Sat. Will be my all around bike, and I'm planning to put her on a diet till 15lbs if I can. First in order is the Deda Zero 100 stem, then cut the rest of the steerer after a few rides. Slowly will be updating the parts. Has anybody have converted their CAAD10(mechanical) to electronic shifting? what are the pro's and cons? its just a maybe in my part.

thanks!

Added some things to the bike -

Before:
http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...fis/CAAD10.jpg

After:
http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...pscebb9520.jpg

Added Elite Cages, Dura Ace 9000 c24 wheelset, Specialized Romin saddle, and a light that I was too lazy to remove for the pic.

Currently 17.9 lbs.

Congrats & welcome. That's my bike, I love it.
Keep us up on the weight loss, I'm curious how low you will get it and what you did to get it there.

LOL! looking good!

I'm starting to prefer the "carbon" cage look as apposed to my aluminum ones

Thank you for the Welcome! This will be my first foray back to aluminum since I had a Trek 1000 a few years back. heard good things about the CAADs so I decided to get one, coming from a full carbon bike. how do you like yours, and what size?

No complaints on the CAAD thus far. It's my first new road bike and they fitted me on a 54.
There's no comparison to the '91 Diamondback Master TG that I came from (dad's old bike). He's 6'4", I'm 5'11"!

3T Rotundo handlebars? I just lost an auction a cheap Pro version to give them a try. The more I think about it, the more I think this shape would be comfortable, that being said, I'd just like to pick up a used cheap Pro version to try for a week or so before I drop my money on the Team version.

I've researched the dimensions and compared it to my current bars (Cannondale C3). The Rotundo seem to be what I want in the dimensions aspect. If they don't work, I'll go for some Ritchey Logic handlebars (either WCS or Carbon Evo).

My new caad10 3

Hello all,

Here is my new CAAD10 3, just picked it up a few weeks ago, and already love it, I have changed the handlebars to 3t ergonova pros, I love these bars, as well as a 3t arx team stealth stem, 3t dorico team stealth seatpost as well as a bontrager paradigm. Also I am using ultegra carbon pedals.

I think it looks bad ass!
I'm not much of a Bontrager fan but I really like the way the paradigm looks. Is it comfortable?

dfine01 04-29-13 05:34 PM

Yah I wasn't really a fan either, but I tried it on advice from a buddy of mine and I actually really liked it. Went on a 3 hour ride and didn't even think about it at all, which I would guess is a good sign

BoomMcNasty 04-29-13 05:54 PM

I stumbled across a Trek dealer a couple of weeks ago and all their employees were pretty cool, I'll have to go back and see if they have a demo program. If they do, I will ask specifically about the Paradigm. Thanks.

My '05 R900 CAAD8 with full Campy. Considering getting it stripped and sanding and polishing the aluminum.
