Your yokos should have come with step-down ferrules like this:

I just installed this setup on my CAAD10 and it worked out perfectly. Of course, with how stiff the yoko housing is, and how sensitive new Red brakes are to housing length, it did make setup a little painstaking. I agree though, brake feel is incredible!

I disagree, but it's all a matter of taste I guess. For me, this bike was striking, in an age of ugly frame shapes and paint jobs, I found the simple lines of this bike kind of elegant and the blackness sharp and refreshing. Obviously not as elegant as a nice old italian steel frame, but different beast right?

And I am referring to the very first bike posted, with the "darth vader" comment...

I am the new, 2nd owner of the 2012 CAAD10 with Sram Red.
Loving the bike, corners well, and very stable going down hills.
Just under 100km so far, looking to really start Road biking this summer as a new cyclist.

Nice new ride! It looks incredible. A set of the green SRAM Red shifters would set it perfect.

bianchi10 05-21-13 07:17 PM

looks good! flatten out that saddle though ;)

Anyone have any suggestions on new crankset. I'm not a fan of the FSA SL-K Light that came with my 10-3 and the chainrings are worn.

I wanted to switch up to getting the Praxis Cycles BB30 to BB86 Adapter and get an Ultegra FC-6700 Crankset (which is 700g, kinda heavy) but to round out my ultegra groupset. That's around $300 total.

I know people do upgrade to the SRAM force crankset as well. I was wondering what the experiences are of those who upgraded to other cranksets and have an ultegra group. I like shimano and have heard good things about the praxis bb adapter, and my gut is just to do that for symmetry with all the components on the bike, but if others have good experiences mixing ohter cranksets and the shimano, i'd apt to be convinced and try it out.

I know people also spend $$$ on the SISL2 crankset, but in my mind, i rather spend the price difference between that and the force or ultegra on something else.

Thanks.

New Sram Red is the way to go. Around $350 on eBay and with lighter rings, such as Praxis, it weighs about the same as a SISL.

this came with my yokos. the "step down" ferrule actually measures 5.3mm on my calipers. it doesnt look anything like the one in your picture.

got my Supersix. It's kind of heavy with the Fulcrum 7's but I'll live with it.

58cm weighed in at about 18lbs with Rival, pedals and my Quarq crank.

Yeah that's exactly what mine came with too. I've heard of a lot of people going ferrule-less with these cables without any problems. I guess that's the way it has to be done in some instances.

Fine, I'll give you more. I probably already posted these, but they could use a repost.
Thinking about putting her on the bidding block though :/

Wait till you see the new one! I'm getting the track racing itch so this may get sold and I would get a track and cheap commuter. It's always super hard to even think about selling the caad though!

How does the supersix(non-high mod) compare to the CAAD10 of the same year? Just got one and love it, but wondering on the differences.
