Where is the caad10 made? Does it uses the Alcoa 6013 t6 or 6061 t6 tubing? I am curious to know what are the main advantages over a caad9

This bike's already been reserved for me and will get end of this month. But I've informed my dealer too that I'm having second thought whether to get the 9 or 10. Thanks!

Based on the reviews about CAAD9, yes, I'd agree that this is a great race machine. My LBS has actually put this bike on sale (from $1750 down to $1350 (140,000yen), still expensive though).

$1350 is quite a bit for a CAAD9 with Tiagra components but you're in Japan, where everything seems really expensive. FWIW, I just purchased a CAAD9-1 frame and having ridden both CAAD9 and CAAD10, I wouldn't say that the CAAD9 is better or worse. It's heavier but both were built to be serious race machines. I don't think you would go wrong with either.

That right there should give you your answer. The 10 is such a better seller than the 9.

I have a CAAD-5, and I believe you would be so much happier with better components. go for the 10-5.

on a side note, where are you in Japan? I live in Okinawa.

Hey Guys, I've had a few questions answered here previously, and I have a new one. I drive a 2010 Toyota Prius back and forth from FL to NY 2x a year. I purchased a CAAD10 in November and have yet to find a bike rack. Which would you suggest? I would prefer to either get a roof rack (that would allow me flexibility if I wanted to carry something other than a bike) or one that mounts on the back (without needing a hitch). I've recently discovered the Saris Bones 3 bike rack which I think could be good, or I've done a little research and seen that THULE and YAKIMA both make roof mounts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi fureshi,

Yup everything here is expensive so the CAAD9’s price is already a bargain.

Upgrading from 9spd Tiagra to 10 spd 105 would cost me around $350+ more. But I’m still a noob in road cycling anyway so I’m not really thinking of doing such upgrade soon.

Congrats on your CAAD9-1, it has a race-ready compo!

Hi Smokinbbl,

The Cdale dealer near me is just a small shop thus he never stocks many bicycles. According to him, the CAAD10 is in stock and he can get it for me (from the distributor) but it’ll be as good as sold. (In Japan, we cannot test ride every bike we want).

Will visit his shop again end of this month and see which bike I will end up getting.

Btw, I’m from Hyogo-ken. I’ve heard that Okinawa has lots of good mountain bike trails.

Thanks all for the advice! :)

Going to call my LBS see if I can get this as a frame set tomorrow. I think this frame color is too nice. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=308217

I love my cannondales. I miss my Caad though, a lot! I'm eyeing a deal this too haha http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=308230 I may sell the EVO and get the CX and Caad. The EVO is too nice if that makes sense.

Picked up some Fulcrum R3s off Ebay and fitted them today. I was told that the Ksyrium Equipes that the bike came with weren't the best option for my stature and combined with the fact that I travel some dodgy roads, I decided to let them go now, rather than break them. Very happy with the Fulcrums!

As far as Mountain Bike trails, I have only seen one trail. I am not sure if there are some up north. I do know there is a lot of roadies here on island, you should come down in January to watch/participate in the Tour De Okinawa!

Good luck on your search, I hope you get the CAAD 10, you will be thankful later!

Still in love with that color scheme. I did a searchtempest search for CAAD10s within 300 miles and came up with one like this. It was a bit to expensive for my liking, plus I'm flat broke. If it's still there mid-summer, I might just have to grab it as a commuter/gravel bike.

Want to help out a fellow CAAD member with wheels?! :)

I'd like to help you out, but postage from here to there would almost be the cost of a new CAAD10!!! Good luck- I'm sure you'll pick up your dream bike soon enough.

cheers

Ah, I just saw you're in Australia.

I have a 2012 CAAD10 Ultegra, and I love it. I'm just digging around for something I can commute and ride gravel roads on without worrying about messing up my CAAD10 - which is my only bike now, if it gets messed up I'm stuck. Plus, I want to play around with SRAM a bit.

I personally believe a flip of the colors would be amazing. If they made a green bike with black accents, I'd be all over that. Hopefully 2014 sees it, or the new CAAD11 whenever we get that. I find Sagan's green machine so sexy. A CAAD green machine would be delightful.

agreed! Cannondale's lime green could be their Celeste. Just keep it simple like Sagan's Flanders bike.

Bought the "Slam my Stem" dust cap because it is so cheap, not sure how long I'll keep it. But I am feeling pretty comfortable at this height, just waiting until I get my longer stem in until I chop my steer tube. Probably going to end up throwing a cane creek short cover on instead of the slam my stem.

Just to give an idea of the difference thus far:

And I don't know why I placed the stem in the middle of the stack when I took the first picture, so don't ask.

New wheels for my caad soon to come.

I use a Saris Bones bike rack on my Prius. Works great and doesn't scratch anything......

Which helmet's are all of you CAAD 10 riders using? Thanks for the responses on the bike rack, I was able to find a Thule Gateway 2 that REI suggested for my Prius.

I'm a CAAD8 rider, but I have a C-Dale Teramo helmet that I got when I got my bike. It matches perfectly ;)
