+1 for the cateye.

I opted for the cateye because of cost and I ride where I grew up (not likely to get lost).
Works great and It's easy to see in direct sunlight, a big plus as I live in the sunshine state.

Cool, looks like cateye works good for speed + cadence and ebay has them cheap. Was also wondering if I need it at all since some iPhone apps have the ability to do most of this now too.

I'd go for a computer over any smartphone setup. Main reason is for rain as most of these devices are water resistant. And you'd have to buy the iphone mount, and probably a good case just in case it falls off. And there's always the battery. I bought a $20 Walmart one and after 4-5 months of almost daily riding, I never had to change the battery and it worked great. Only had to replace it because the bike was falling and out of instinct I grabbed the first thing I could, which was the computer's cable which then broke.

agreed, and for an option to the cateye I have heard good reviews on Sigma computers

I agree with everything they're saying, but I use the app Strava and LOVE it. I've paired it with a life proof case and handlebar mount (has a quick release for the mount so you don't have to unscrew it to get it off your handlebars) and it hasn't been an issue at all. I do have 4GB of data per month though, it eats a lot of data if you ride a lot.

Strava does not use any data for capturing your ride. It only relies on GPS signal. File uploads once complete can be done on wifi but the files are still relatively small.

Good to know, may be worth looking into why my data usage was so much higher when I used it more...thanks for the info!

I love strava just for the data, when I got chased by a massive pit bull you could see the jump in power on the strava map.

How many grams did you lose with the Nondale fork?

Have you noticed any other differences on the road compared to the stock fork? E.g stiffness, comfort, handling?

About the bike computers on a CAAD 10, I purchased a Cannondale branded computer, wireless, and no cadence, The temperature readout went South in 2 months and now I am getting an ERROR01 readout while I am riding. Going to talk to my LBS this weekend about the malfunctions and if this under warranty. It is only 5 months old so it should be. Frustrating, I can live without the thermometer but the ERROR01 in the function line is disconcerting.

The 3 things I have by Cannondale, bike, saddle bag & floor pump, have all been excellent so far. Hopefully your LBS makes good on the computer.

Fantastic picture. I was going to get my SS 105 in the flat black, but I might decide on the "team" colors just because of this picture.

Wow that's a great compliment to Mr Gasper! Great 1st post. Welcome to the forum!

(Personally I would have gone with the SS though :p)

Lol I'm still getting the SS. But the SS-5 comes in either those colors or a flat black. Been a back and forth debate as to what color to get.

SOMEONE FIGURE OUT WHAT FONT HED USES.

There has got to be somebody on this forum who knows. Lol.

Nothing special compared to other members' upgraded bikes in this thread! It's going to take me months to save just for a decent set of wheels!

I think I lost 103g, I know the Evo fork weighs 289 (ridiculous), everything else is the same. Its the right rake and everything for the size.

Pinkbullet3 02-21-13 11:07 PM

An Evo fork actually looks pretty slick on a CAAD10 frame, despite the missing "Can."
