I dig it a lot!

I know this isn't the hot or not thread, but you might want to rotate the bar ends back up a little bit. They are pointed up quite a bit. Black chain rings would set it on fire for me. Nice bike mang

Actually, the bar end is pretty flat. Maybe the camera angle made it looked that way. As for the chain rings, I'm gonna wait until they are worn out. I switched the frame from 2010 gray CAAD9. :) But it is in my to do list.

Love that color scheme... If they had that in the shop when I got my CAAD8, I probably would have overspent and walked out with that one...

I've put 8,111 miles on the bike since May 2010. Not that much, but this year's looking good with 3,491 miles since January.

New SRAM Red chainrings bought from a friend who didn't need them, SRAM Red ceramic jockey wheels (freebie from another friend), SRAM chain and ceramic bearings (mine were clicking a lot). I love this this bike!

+1 no to that

You might even want a nice teal or mint green fridge to match... Maybe a rotary telephone too?

long live the cult

How do you guys go about buying new stems? Do you try them beforehand to make sure they're comfortable?

I just wing it; it probably isn't the best system, although I knew what had to be done to be comfortable.

My previous 110mm/-17deg stem was too long and low, so I swapped for a 100mm/-10deg. Raised the bars about a cm, and brought them a cm closer as well. Fits great.

I've been wanting to swap out my stem for something shorter and flatter as well. Mine is also 110mm and I feel a little bit stretched out on it. Not sure whether to go for 100mm or 90mm.

Sounds like a great deal. Are they in good condition?

prankster 07-24-13 04:51 PM

From the pictures, they looked good. Unless my eyes deceived me. Even if they aren't, $25 chainrings for spare isn't too bad.

I know this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if there is anything I should be wary of when removing spacers from below the stem? The guy at the store said there should be at least one spacer under the stem, but I planned to remove all of them while I wait for the "slam that stem" headset bearing covers to come back online.

What he probably meant was bearing cover. You can have zero spacer underneath the stem but bearing cover is a must. To get the look of slammed stem, buy a thin bearing cover like slamthatstem.com. Or go to cannondaleexpert online store, get a supersix bearing cover.
