D,

Didn't I see that bike on RBR?
Same year/model as mine.
I just went Dura Ace 7800.

Love it. At first, one might think it's just another Shimano group that costs more and
weighs less, but it's when the riding gets aggressive that you notice the difference.

Once it's dialed in and tuned right after the cables stretch, it's almost intuitive.

You're going to love it.

I have that same bike (2010 CAAD9-5) and love it. I have Williams System 30 wheels on it and went with a black saddle and black bar tape after the original white became, well, black. I like the red accents on yours - looks totally different than mine. I'll see if I can post pics.

How are you liking the 105 drivetrain? I have 6000 miles on mine and I'm done with it. It's had all of its tune-ups and cables replaced and I'm still not stoked about the shifting - especially the compact double front chainring. I throw my chain about every other ride if I am not careful moving from the large to small chainring.

Haven't had any issues with the drive train but I only have 1000 miles on the bike. Dropped the chain once, but I think it was my fault

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one... This is happening to me as well on my '09 with 105 (standard 105 crankset). If I apply any power at all shifting from big chainring to small, it's a guaranteed Andy Schleck. I've changed the cable tension and taken it to my wrench who's more than capable, no dice. Short term fix has been a K-Edge chain catcher, long term is a swap to Rival.

And "maybe" these hoods?

Heck...while you're at it, you might as well! THESE TOO!

That would be the BEST $300. you could spend on that bike (brakes/hoods/post).

Go Dura-Ace 7800. It can be had for less than what a new Ultegra 6700 group costs and it's flawless.

Looks like I too, can't pass up a GREAT deal on a GREAT bike that just happens to be white....

btw... those white wheels are a very nice touch.
I know what I'm gonna get when I get new wheels!

Who makes that headlight?

Thank you sir.. its my first attempt at putting together a road bike. had a lot of help from the good people here. the seat post i have on there now is the deda super zero. i got it in a ebay auction and was supposed to be white. i got screwed on the deal and was sent a black model and the people i got it from never responded to emails. i just said hell with it and kept the dam thing.

im not sure of the hoods though.. i would need to see what they look like on the bike. i was actually thinking of white hoods, but i do not think it is available for tiagra shifters.

BTW, very nice looking Cannondale there!! I like it, and the wheels!! Probably going to be a pain to keep it clean and looking that nice though.

lemak 01-18-11 07:27 AM

It's actually not that bad to keep clean. I just make sure to wipe it down after every ride with spray polish. Stuff you get at a motorcycle shop. It's just spray detailer with a little bit of wax in it. Also I learned the hard way about over lubricating the chain!! Always wipe off the extra chain lube!!!

Just been told that blacks are sold out. I don't want to wait.
I'm thinking about going back to plan "A"...Dura-Ace 7800s.

Those particular hoods I Google Imaged were compatible for DA/105/Ult. They might fit Tiagra.

The wheels changed the bike completely!!

It is not a headlight, it's my garmin edge.

irvri 01-18-11 10:46 AM

Question, how much would a CAAD10 frameset cost me?

I agree. The wheels transformed that bike.
It was a nice looker before, but those wheels really set of the bike.
