That's awesome! People collect cars, why not bikes?
Not sure if it was you but someone posted about the trek superstore in SD having the black inc for $1500. Can someone give me the location or phone# Gonna see if they would ship it to the Canada/US border. |

That price was a mistake - check post #7155 in this thread. It was $2499.

It's nice to see all these beautiful new Caad's. But where have all the older beauty's gone?

Another oldie but a beauty. It's an '06 Caad8 Optimo. Nothing original other than the frame and fork. Picked it up on ebay - the frame was in immaculate condition. I have it built up with 11spd Athena and Campy Eurus wheels. Love love love the way the bike rides. Looks good too, although somewhat generic compared to my blue one. I'll continue to keep my eye out for Caad 9's with outline lettering - just in case I have to retire one of the others.

And here's the bike that got it all started - I couldn't believe how stiff the frame was. Compared to my previous bikes it felt like a rocket.

Yeah... that was too good to be true considering that's what I would have paid for the 10-5 without the wheel discount.
http://www.goridebicycles.com/goride/?page_id=412 Too bad they don't have me size. Best I can get locally so far in Canada is $2550 without wheels, cassette, and seat post. |
Sorry for the noob question, but do 25mm Michelin Pro4 Endurance tires fit? (2013 CAAD10) I read somewhere the tires were close to 28mm.
http://www.slowtwitch.com/Products/T...view_3748.html TIA! |

http://www.slowtwitch.com/Products/T...view_3748.html TIA! Just measured my 58cm frame and found the seat stay/brake bridge has ~60mm clearance, so no worries. Chain stay - BB end has ~35mm clearance at its widest point, so you may get there. cheers |
Ordered and put money down on the 2014 CAAD 10 5 today. I test rode a 58cm 2013 model last weekend, but really need the 60. Salesperson said it should be in week after next, but my wife said I can't ride it 'til after Christmas. Can't wait to return to cycling after a long hiatus...especially since the Cannondale has been my dream bike since the early-mid '90's.

I had 23mm pro4 endurances on Shimano RS80s and they felt like 23mm.
Replaced with Pro4 Service Course and they sit a little wider on the rim, but not sure if close to 25. |

okies. arg....
so, i'm in the middle of one CAAD3 build, but i thought it would be a GREAT idea to pick up another CAAD3 frame. problem is, i can't really source it's original gruppo. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/607/4xn4.jpg it's a caad3, i know. it's a 99, per the serial numbers on the BB. however, it has no designation on the top tube. for that year, the downtube graphics were all the higher end setups, but they all had a designation, except for the Saeco rigs, which just had Saeco. gotta say, this isn't a Saeco frame. seller gave me a 105 pressfit headset with it, but i don't think even that's original. aaarrrrrggg quandary!! now, to brag, just a bit. the frame is nearly spotless. there's really only two marks on the entire frame. i was told by the guy i bought it from that it mainly sat on a trainer. there's really no road wear at all. really. |
Has anyone seen the 2014 grey and black colors in person? I'm finding myself in the market for a new CAAD10, and from photos online it's hard to tell what to think of the blacked out Ultegra. I like the idea of a murdered frame because then color becomes an accent game (thinking red CK hubs and nipples laced to HED Ardennes Plus rims, etc), but I'm afraid that it might initially be TOO monochromatic.
I glanced through the last half a dozen pages of this thread and a few other random places besides, but it looks like photos are still a little sparse at this point. But if anyone's seen the black I'd love to know it. |
biciklanto - go to page 276 and 280 on this forum and you should find 2014 CAAD10 3 Ultegra in Black. I put some pics of mine on a page a couple of weeks ago (so maybe 286 or 285?). my pictures were taken with an iPhone so detail wasn't amazing. Anyway, i wanted a black bike, so i got this one. I love the colour (or lack of colour). And the bike rides really well.

Cannondale used to sell frame sets as well as complete bikes. If there is no model number on the frame, I.E. R2000, it was probably sold as a frame set. The '99 complete bikes came with 105 5500, Ultegra 6500, and Dura Ace 7700. The exception to this rule, that I know of, is the 2002 CAAD5 Stars and Stripes frames. They either came as a 105 equipped built bike with no model designation, or a frameset. |

But if anyone's seen the black I'd love to know it. The grey 2014 is the 105 which is an anodized charcoal dark grey, nothing glossy about it, not sure if that's the one you are referring to but it didn't do it for me personally. They went extra with the graphics this year and I was looking for something more subtle. Now the black ultegra version is also anodized with the only gloss are the small amount of graphics and the big cannondale on the downtube. It has exactly the same graphics as in prior years which I found odd but I'm glad it does, not feeling the new stuff. As a matter of fact 2014 ultegra black is the same exact frame as the 2011 or 2012 dura ace model from what I can see with the exception of maybe a inner routed back brake cable? Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. Hope this helped. |

Thanks! by far my favorite color. this is, kinda, replacing an 89 crit Cdale that was stolen. i should have remembered that framesets were sold separately. i mistakenly assumed by 99 they were only selling complete bikes. |
Not sure when they stopped offering frame sets. I was able to get a 6/13 in 2005.

I'm now sold on the black Ultegra CAAD10. Guess it's time to factor it into my Q1 budget. :) |

Need help identifying a Cannondale... I rented an "aluminum road bike" for a few days while traveling a couple weeks ago. It ended up being a predominantly blue Cannondale with a carbon rear triangle and aluminum everything else. It wasn't a CAAD-something, it said Six on the fork, but no other markings. I can't figure out what model/year it was, it had a hodgepodge of parts including a DA crank and Tiagra shifters, and a fat carbon seatpost. Nice bike, just wondering what I rode and I figured you guys would know.

Sounds like a System six.
Can't remember what year/model it is buy I'm sure its a system 6. It also makes me realize what a great racket renting bikes is... They paid $800 for that bike in 2009. I paid $140 to rent it for 4 days. They've probably paid for that bike and its maintenance hundreds of times over if they have regular renters. Too bad shipping my bike wasn't practical. Carry on with the CAAD worship. |

what a teaser? in progress? what are you doing to it? did I miss something? you did such a good job with your build? were you board the way it was?
edit: okay nevermind, I stopped being lazy and went back a few pages. You're swapping the SRAM group for a new 6800 group....looking forward to pics when it's done. |
