Yeah. From sram red-force combo. Had a great deal on a brand new 6770 group I couldn't refuse. Finished with the assembly last night. Today's menu is tuning and bar-wrapping. It should be finished by tonight.

I still have a Quarq crankset though. Hopefully it doesn't look too weird.

About to make the leap to a 2013 CAAD10 Force I'm a Masters 4/5 Crit racer, Sport MTB racer, and dabble in CX. I'm switching from a 2013 Spec Tarmac Elite (older Ultegra SL). Was a frame replacement for a 2009 Tarmac Expert.
I got a deal I couldn't pass up. I'm a bit worried about the switch even with knowing how great a bike it is. One guy on my team said I was crazy. I'm sure I made the right choice given the 1000's of positive comments about the bike!
Looking forward to sharing my steed in the next week or so.

Can't go wrong with the CAAD my man. Please share yours when you get it, never to much CAAD.

doubt it will look weird. You have one of the better paint schemes to date. Are you sticking with the mavics or did you find a cool deal on new hoops too? Really looking forwar to the update. Were you able to sell the sram parts?

prankster 12-11-13 03:29 PM

Thanks! Yeah, I'm sticking to mavics as there is no incentive for me to upgrade to full carbon wheelsets as they are only 200-300g lighter. I'm not gonna use tubulars as well unless i have my own mechanic. I am racing and need something bulletproof or not-too-expensive-wheelset-to-replace. I think I'm gonna keep the sram. Maybe upgrade my gf's bike with it. We'll see. May post pics tonight.

Tuned and ready to go. All drill points are the same as CAAD10 Black Di2, except the chainstay. Mine is at the bottom.

Happy with its performance. Smooth. No chain rub when cross chaining. It rubs on the chainring though.

YES!....it just doesn't get much better than that my friend....job well done.

THSdrummer 12-12-13 09:52 AM

What are you trying to do, Prankster? Lock in the spot as my favorite CAAD10 ever?

Because you did it. Congrats.

prankster 12-12-13 10:23 AM

Lol! Thanks!

mrtrinh 12-12-13 10:37 AM

What a beauty! Did you paint that portion of your saddle green? Ive never seen a specialized saddle with the green accent

prankster 12-12-13 10:43 AM

Yes I did. Had been wanting to do that for a while. The recent di** move by spez kind of pushing me to do it. :)

THSdrummer 12-12-13 02:25 PM

I like your thought process on painting your saddle. The next saddle on my "to try" list is a Toupe in size 143. I want a white version. Might paint the logos black or try to match it with the red on my bike. Not a bad idea. Multiple logos don't freak me out, but I do desire a clean look.

prankster 12-12-13 02:40 PM

The new Toupe doesn't have the plastic rail anymore at the back. It is much cleaner. The S logo is embedded onto the synthetic leather. So you can't paint anything. The old model had red colored plastic rail at some point (way back then). Also, the old one was lighter IIRC. 185g vs 205g both hollow Ti.

Trying again with a pic. Need some pedals, cages, and a bike fit. The only other upgrade I'm considering are carbon seat post and cockpit. Not sure if I'll need the vibration reduction advantage of carbon yet (probably three months before it gets ridden outside in Wisconsin :(. I'm really impressed with the look and feel of the bike. Love the raw. FSA Energy wheelset is pretty meh. The cassette also looks cheap. The bar tape is very nice compared to most other bikes. This will be my crit bike.

I've been wanting a Caad for awhile now, but I just couldn't get past the look of the 13's so I've waited patiently for the 14s. I went to just 'look' at one today and ended up taking an Ultegra 14 home with me. So I guess I'm apart of the Baand Waagon.

I like that a lot. Very classy.

hifidelity 12-15-13 08:37 PM

^^ That flat black is pretty hot.

Picked up my CAAD 10 5 today, along with some Shimano 105 pedals (5700-C), Garmin 510, and a CycleOps Jetfluid Pro trainer. With shoes and helmet and lots of other odds and ends it turned out to be a very expensive trip. Spent some time on the trainer this evening, and I can't wait to get it outside. The BBQ looks much better in person than on the Cannondale site.

Anyway...here's an awful cell phone pic of the bike. My man cave is running out of room for my hobbies.

Yup, very nice!! Welcome to the club!

seymour1910 12-15-13 08:47 PM

Nice bikes guy's and welcome to the brotherhood. Oh, and "thewilson" we will let you slide this time on calling it "Baand Waagon"

THSdrummer 12-16-13 10:37 AM

The 2014 CAAD10 3 is just too good. I'm trying to save up to purchase one on close out when the 2015s come out. I doubt it'll happen, but every man can dream, right?

The CAAD10 is a great all around performer. Perfect for crits. I own a CAAD10 and CAAD5 so take my word for it. I doubt your team member has ridden a CAAD10 so how valid is his opinion? Enjoy the new bike.

what are you going to do if the '15 10-3 looks better? You will be back with the same thought again next year. I love the '14 10-4 myself because I really like red. I can't afford a new bike right now, otherwise I would have it. I may be able to afford it when the new ones come out, but then what if I like the '15 better
