Bikes: One with square wheels

I think if i can get them to knock the tax off I'll pick it up. I know the shop in my college town will have a sale toward summer that will bring the price of a 2014 down within 100$ if this 2013 if not right down to 1500...but that requires me to be bike-less for x amount of time.
But I do need new pedals and a computer since mine had got bundled when I sold my old bike...Garmin 500 and 105 pedals will be a nice chunk of change as well.

I didn't like that frame color at all but after seeing a few in person, it's grown on me. I have the black/black frame and I've already put a few minor scratches on it; luckily Sharpie marker matches perfectly, lol.

Oh boy. I wanted to post pictures, but my pics don't compare with that beauty above.
Had the opportunity to ride again. It's been 2 months since I've ridden outside (and between those 2 months I spent 1 week on the rollers before I had to return them). I've been having a down time with running. Had a collection of bad workouts and haven't put together a good race this indoor track season just yet. Considering it's been widely regarded as me being the "most improved" after this winter, I'm bummed. So I set out with good weather in the forecast for a birthday weekend full of riding, pondering, and pictures. It came down to more riding and pictures. I borrowed my friends GoPro, and while I took a little under 4,000 images, only 100 or so of them are worth looking at, and I'm going to post a couple of my favorites here. I also set back to back mileage PRs. Previously, my longest ride had been 41 miles. Saturday I hit 55 miles (with a big PR in climbing as well, and a new top speed), and followed that up with a 70 mile day. I wanted to coast out an extra 10 miles for 130km, but I was already late to my birthday dinner. The weather wasn't as warm, or as sunny as promised, but that's alright. I got to ride. The smile says it all. Now for pictures.

*Disclaimer: I honestly didn't realize my helmet was tilted that far back. I feel very un-Euro/Pro in all the pictures I got. I tightened it up after I finished playing around on this road, but I only took one set of shots after I got off this road and none of them turned out to good. These are all from the same road and the same ride (Sunday, 70 miles). This road was just so cool I had to get every angle I could. It is only an 800m stretch, but I reckon I rode it 4 or 5 times before being on my way. Easily the coolest road I've ridden to date. The last shot is my "product placement" shot, even though I'm turning around after setting up the camera. Running tights tend to sag. I think it's time I indulge in some bib tights.

Crazy, I never imagined Team Sarcasm to be a girl from her posts.
I'd wait on those clipless pedals for at least a few months or so for you to become natural on the bike at speed unless you've had a similar bike already (gender playing no part btw).

Nice new CAAD, TS, it and your lady are both keepers!
I'll go ahead and say it, lose the reflectors and the dork disk
.
THSdrummer, your smile in the pics says it all to me, I recognize that look and know the feeling. Oh, and a belated Happy Birthday, being late to your own birthday dinner
too much

LOL!! I was going to say that you needed a new LBS or bike fitter. That bike seems way too big!! But now it makes sense.

Bikes: One with square wheels
and I did take them off today
Pedals have been ordered. I am going to go face the music and go to the bike shop I usually go to (which is not the one that I bought this from.....) and get a 10mm longer stem at some point in time.
Hopefully they still love me

Asking for some help / education from my fellow CAAD enthusiasts. I just found this frame on eBay and bought it for my wife. Intend to build it up with either 6800 or Athena 11spd.
Where my knowledge is lacking is with respect to the BB30 bottom bracket. I believe both the 6800 and Athena are available with BB30 bottom brackets, but what I don't know is whether I need a new bottom bracket or not. The photo below appears to show a BB installed. Am I missing anything or will any crank install in this BB? Or should I replace the BB?
I've read that there are adapters that will fit BB30 and will accept a standard english BB. This appeals to me since there's a great likelyhood that I can move the groupset someday to another bike.
Comments / suggestions / help? Thanks in advance.

I have a press-fit FSA BB30 to Shimano adapter. I had the LBS install it with Loctite 648 which is a bearing compound. There are way better bearing compounds out there, but I went with the "I have warranty coverage" angle if it creeks.
The other two options are considered were Wheels Mfg delrin adapters and the BDOP adapters. The whole thing really annoys me, English or nothing.

Now to decide on whether to install an adapter to english thread, or simply install the BB30 bearings for the chainset of choice. Athena PowerTorque is at the moment on the top of the list - I know, UltraTorque is better. The preferred chainset color is only available in the PowerTorque.

Isn't Campag coming out with a BB30 compatible bottom bracket for their cranksets? I seem to remember some discussion a while back about this. Maybe its just my oldtimers disease kicking in on me in the early morning.

It's kind of set up for me. I put my Brooks on it and I need a different stem. I have some speedplay pedals on too. I paid $350 and it doesn't have a scratch or dent on it.

My dilemma re the BB was solved by what I hope was a good find on eBay. I've been eyeing the SL-K cranksets, but they've been way too much money. So I think I've found one that will work nicely. I'm hoping. Found several forum threads here and elsewhere that helped me feel comfortable with the buy.
Everything else will be Campy Athena 11spd. Now I hope that my wife enjoys riding the bike as much as I'm enjoying working on the build.

Campagnolo has introduced a BB30/PF30 compatible setup; it's product name is Over-Torque.

Well.....went out for the first time on my caad10 today. No computer yet so I was pretty much juts paying attention to the bike (and not speed/distance).
I think 3 words explain what I just experienced...."sheer ignorant bliss"
