Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Orange frame ordered... Can't wait. I've had different combinations of black and white frames for years..

So my frame came today. I had a few minutes to snap a couple pics. The frame weighed 1260 grams as pictured. The fork came in @ 391 grams. Frame is a little porky to say the least. I was sick and tired of black and white frames, that's what I've had for the last five years. I think the color is adding some weight. Its SUPER bright orange. They list it as Neon. It's a nice change. My crappy pics do not do it justice.
I dropped it off at the shop to reinstall the bottom bracket with loctite instead of the grease that's in it now. Will get more pics as I go.
Going with full E-tap build.

Boyd singles with Veloflex tubs. Ordering some new alloy rims with CK mango hubs. Not sure on the hoops yet..
Jagwire cables for the brakes, never used these. Hope they work out.

I happened to watch one of the guy's youtube video while researching my issue of how to run brake wires into the CAAD12 frame.

https://www.shapeways.com/product/EH...2-cable-plug-1

I'm thinking of getting them but if anyone knows a better/cheaper option?
These worked great, but I just got the new E-tap frame and it came with a bag of plugs for the rear derailleur cable exit, the hole behind the rear wheel, and the two on the right side of the frame. I would assume you can order them through Cannondale now.

GTK. I wonder how much they cost? Probably half an arm and leg from Cannondale.

Bikes: MBK Super Mirage 1991, CAAD10, Yuba Mundo Lux, and a Cannondale Criterium Single Speed

If I wanted to "upgrade" my CAAD10 105's FSA crankset to a Si, is my cheapest option to just buy a CAAD12? The prices of individual C'dale parts seems a bit outrageous.

And is the Si just a rebadged FSA crank anyway, or is it genuinely just the rings that FSA supply?

This isn't a case of trying to install superior parts on my bike, just a longer-term project of switching over to a silver Campy group rather than the existing 105, and trying to determine if C'Dale branded cranks would be more in keeping with the look than Potenza.

Both your bikes are beautiful but holy Rule 48, that can't be comfy.

Somewhat recently purchased CAAD12

My fathers day present, which finally got me off my ass and back into cycling. Love this bike, 63CM frame (I am 6' 5") with discs and 105 drive train, great bike that loves these northern California back roads.

The stems are 130mm. I'm 6'0" riding on the 56cm frames.

haha, yea. I forced myself to adopt a slammed race position a few years back. Ever since then, I am only comfortable when riding aggressively. I have a more relaxed synapse, but after 2 hours in the saddle my lower back starts to hurt. With the aggressive CAAD I can go well over 3 hours before feeling anything.

Bikes: CAAD10

Got these Ultegra wheels for $291 from biketiresdirect and finally completed my build about five years later I think. The wheels I had on before were taken off my previous bike and were about 12 years old, loving these so far very smooth.

CAAD12 Black inc. fork query

Hi guys, newbie here, picked up a CAAD12 Black inc frame. Very pleased with it, BUT I'm struggling with the headset.

Am I right that the fork which comes with the Black Inc. doesn't need the bottom crown race & the bearing just sits on the carbon fork crown?

Looks like the only way I can make things work, any ideas?

Yes, the crown race is integrated. Just put the bearings on.

Just give me a Cannondale with a threaded bottom bracket . . . I'll grudgingly take pushfit but I really don't like the idea of BB30 and I do like Shimano cranks.

Endurance CAAD as good as the CAAD 12?

Proud owner of a CAAD 12 2015 105 model.

I've got to say, I like this bike and would marry it if it were legal!

My only complaint is that it spoils me and I wanted to get an endurance Cannondale bike that was as good. I took a ride on the Synapse (ALU and CF) and hated them both. Kind of dead feel and not as buzz absorbant.

Why can't Cannondale make the Synapse as good as the CAAD 12? Is it a geometry thing?

Can someone link my "dumbass" to Hope Hubs that will fit my 2016 Caad12 Ultegra?
