Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The tire is seated against a small diameter roller. This creates more resistance than if you had a tire seated against a flat road. The smaller the diameter roller the greater the effort to turn it. That is why bikes have such large diameter wheels.

Think of it this way. Imagine pushing a shopping cart across a field. Now imagine pushing a bicycle across a field. Which is easier? The bike of course with its large wheels. smaller = more difficult

I honestly can't believe anyone's this stupid. Nice try troll.

The thing is, my average speed is much FASTER on the trainer, yet I never feel like I am getting anywhere.

I think most troll posts start out with incorrect sentence structure to prepare the reader for the impending stupidity. Baby bike bolts was a classic example.

"Does anybody else has this issue?" is another excellent example.

Sigh.

Subtle humor is subtle.

That the "knob is too tight" was originally referring to the rider, not the trainer.

I'm not going to give up my day job. If I did, when would I post here?

I have a KK trainer. Tightening the knob doesn't affect resistance at all. You just want the knob tight enough that your wheel doesn't slip. Anything more is pointless, and in extreme, I suppose it might warp your wheel.

I'm beginning to think that maybe it's not the knob that's too tight, and I worry that it might be contagious. You don't live near the OP do you?

Can I get it by posting in this thread?
