Since many of you have mentioned the KCNC skewers off ebay, I found this one ($64 shipped) and wondering is that legitimate and reliable. Seller is from Taiwan.

Seems like the skewers, seatpost, or even the seatpost clamp are the things to start off for weight reduction. I kinda read through this long post but couldn't find an answer on which seat post is a better choice? The Omni Racer, or the KCNC Ti seapost? The Omni Racer one looks nicer (heavier yea) with the carbon look plus it's setback. As well, which seatpost clamp would you all suggest? Thanks!

Check them out.
Of those offerings, I'm going to go with a solid clamp personally.

yeah i knew that would come up i should have said something about that in the beginnig i weight 120lb so trust me i cant lose any weight. As far as Fuji goes they are totally under rated! I own two Fujis and both are great bikes and are a killer value for the money. I guess no one has seen a SST or SL1 but those are NICE bikes! I even like the old steel frame Fujis. My ACR rides and feels like a CAAD and actually they are very comperable if you ask me but you dont see as many ACRs as you do CAADs so thats one reason i chose this bike.

I went with this one in black. It's really thin, but has held up just fine. No issues with slippage.

Guy from ebay got back to me about the FSA rings on the weight. They were 52t, and 38t 110bcd with bolts and weighed 210g. I was wanting to try a bit taller gear than my 50-34, but that is friggen' ridiculous. It's like 80g more than what I have now. Looks like I am going to pass on those, and back to considering Fibre-Lyte.

Why not just go to a standard crank? All my bikes now have standard cranks. Since you race, I'd think the compact isn't enough anyway.

***UPDATE*** on the Planet X brakes. As I mentioned my latest set didn't come with Swiss Stop green pads. They came with a 'mystery' blue pad, were a little heavier, and didn't seem to stop as well. I noticed this morning on my ride in the pads were actually quite grippy and the brakes were working VERY well, so I'm wondering if the prior poor performance might be because the pads were new and needed to be roughed up a little. I'm also wondering if they are the Shimano 'blue' brake pad I've been hearing about the pro's preferring in this years tour.

As many of you who follow this thread may know. I've been trying to figure out a lighter chainring combo for my crankset on my S2. Well I found out something, I somewhat suspected, but didn't imagine it would be this big of a difference. It cost me zero $$$, and was a bit of a surprise bargain many of you may want to try.
I recently traded my Red Standard crankset to a guy at the LBS for his brand new Force Compact. Of course Red is better than Force, but this crank is on my Trek 5200(training bike), and the 38g wasn't that big of a deal. I've recently come to like having a compact. Not to mention sometimes I will let my bikeless friends borrow my Trek, while we ride, and they will appreciate the lower gearing when we go uphills. So now I have a Force Compact crankset, and a Lightning Compact, with Stronglight CT.2 50t, and an Extralite 34t. I weighed the chainrings on the S2 last week, and I was not impressed. Not to mention the big ring is black, and the small ring is gold, which looks a bit goofy. They weighed in at 28g for the 34t, and 99g for the 50t. Together they weighed in at 128g, so they must of been a bit on the heavy side of each individual weight. My scale doesn't do tenths of a gram, just exact grams. 28g seemed pretty decent, but 99g, was a bit ridiculous. So tonight, I weighed the Sram Force rings. I suspected the big ring might be a little bit lighter. I had a Force Standard crank before, and I remember the 53t wasn't too much heavier than my KCNC 53t, and the 39 was actually lighter than the KCNC 39t. So I tossed the Force Compact rings on the scale. 119g/pr 91g for the 50t, and 27g for the 34t, again must of been on the high side of the individual weights. So naturally the Sram Force rings made their way onto the S2. This means it is down from 6130g, to 6121g. Not bad for $0. I am however going to buy a set of the Sram rings in black, and put those on, and return the silver ones to the Trek, but for now, I just switched them. The good news Sram Force rings are cheap, and light, so give them a shot guys. They also shift pretty friggen' good as well. The big ring felt a bit stiffer than the Stronglight as well. So overall it was a win, win situation.

Also avoid Red rings. They are like nearly 30g heavier for the big ring. The small ring is identical, but the big rings are heavy. Makes no sense to me, unless they were trying to add stiffness, which kinda seems like a silly change, because the Force rings are plenty stiff.

Thanks for the rcommendation on the blue pads. How do you like the brakeset and what is the weight?
Single pivot or dual pivot>?

They probably just needed to be broken in a bit.
My CNC's came with SwissStop black pads, but I never used them.
I installed GHP2 (green) pads right away and damn!
The braking over my OEM Tektros/pads was worlds better.
I remember the first time I needed to stop by emergency and it was like I was thinking
it one moment and before I knew it, I was stopped without any fanfare or drama.
Single.

single pivot but the cam design adds a lot of power. Honestly they feel like Ultegra brakes to me. You do have to center them once in a blue moon though. They're right around 200 grams for the set.

My friggen KCNC seatpost clamp just exploded, after adjusting it. It was a pretty heavy piece too. That sucks, looks like I have to ride my Cervelo for a few days now. Any suggestions on a good 34.1mm clamp? I am thinking about the New Ultimate. It looks like a better design.

The stickers on Zipp 404s weigh 15g, just in case anyone was wondering. Plus then you get maximum dimple surface effectiveness.
