Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm jealous of your ankle, mine seems to be hurting worse now that I have been off the bike for four days.

As for the crit, 30 minutes into I want you to remember the comment you just made.

I will. It's gonna be cake. Same race as last week. This time I am attacking with 1/2 a lap to go. Gonna see if I can ride them all off my wheel. Just got to ride smart, and conserve all my energy for the attack.

Also, I've taken a lot of time off of my ankle. I was riding every day. I cut back to like 3 times a week, and wasn't going far or as hard as usual. Last weeks crit race was my first hard effort in 3 weeks. It sucked was jealous of you 1000mile month.

I haven't ridden yet this month and it sucks! Tonight's group ride is postponed until tomorrow so I plan to ride that. I went to a church dinner last night and met the preacher, plan to ride 50 miles with him on Friday. I have no idea what to expect but I'm thinking it could be a rather easy ride. Of course, I'm usually wrong so he will probably take me out and try to kill me.

I've got a bachelor party tomorrow, but I have Friday off. Gonna get an easy ride in, with a couple of practice sprints, just to make sure I am primed for the race on Saturday.

It and your knee get rotated thousands of times and the ankle is the smaller one with all the generated power travelling through it.

whew good run today. I was going to do a group ride, but it was a little wet so I decided to run and ended up going as far as I ever have. Feel pretty good too.

I'm debating between two front brakes and doing that to my frame. I filed the fork dropouts to accept new wheels so I may as well hand drill the brake bridge.

If you have a 9/32" too you could wiggle it just a little bit and make a slapdash 5/16" hole.

Song for inspiration:
