Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just weighed myself for the first time in months and I'm 155!! I have been doing 3-5 days of heavy labor a week for the last month. I bet it goes into the 140's by tonight. One good BM and a hard day on the bike will knock the stuffing out.

I'm close, but not there yet. Being 10lbs over my goal weight is frightening to me. It also makes riding my 13lbs bike seem stupid.

What failed logic? I simply said that the absence of fat alone does not make one a good climber.

Seems like it would make the who poo issue a little less messy.

Not me, I am worse than a teenage high school girl.

It helps a lot. Hell just the the difference from my 13lbs bike to my 16lbs bike is a huge difference. When I am 10lbs over race weight, I hate climbing.

There is nude everything. I really do not miss randomly seeing nude bike riders in OR. Not exactly the portrait of health and sanity you would hope for in someone greeting you au natural.

Day off today for some ocean swimming and going out of town this weekend to visit the car collection of Truett Cathy (founder of chick-fil-a). It's nice having a break.

Have fun car girl.

So I just walked outside with the dog to see if the truck had arrived for some furniture we are donating and I hear this loud bang on the metal siding in the back of the house. I'm thinking a tree branch fell but a screeching wild turkey comes running around the side of the house in a blind panic.

I enjoy everything about cars. I even like boring and ugly cars.

Thin with a deceptively strong upper body and powerful legs.

Incorrect. I can feel a difference between my 404s vs my Spinergy FCCs. As a complete unit, wheels, cassette skewers, it is only a 1lb difference. The 404s are faster.

In converse to this however. Last weeks crit race, I rode my 16lbs bike in 15lbs form with the FCCs on it. Still down 2lbs from my 13lbs ultimate speed weapon form bike. The result was 1 position better, and .9mph faster average speed over the previous week's race on the 13lbs weapon. These were both on the same circuit, so it could go either way. I will say however I think I could of grabbed the win in the sprint on week 2 on the 13lbs bike.
