Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I used to bike commute. That job had a bike rack in their parking garage and a full locker room so I could shower before donning my suit and tie. That was pretty much the best part about working there.

So you swapped frames but kept the wheels that ate a dozen tubes in three rides? Makes perfect sense and I will look forward to your upcoming ride reports.

Commuting to work by bicycle is not rocket science.

Plus, there is the added bonus of pissing off motorists.

Well that wheel is a new powertap wheel. I put some new rim tape and a new tire so I should be good.

In two weeks I shall be doing my summer solstice challenge ride: through the Tail of the Dragon and up over the mountains.

I shall be traveling at a slightly slower speed than pictured below:

Speaking of the solstice, will Coasting be doing a ride to stonehenge or is he stuck in Taiwan?

Generally speaking, the Harleys aren't the idiots attempting to set course speed records.

I recommend this classic movie for miyata man, since he's been posting about being alone and having to till other people's soil.

It details how one can earn enough money to buy a farm while simultaneously taming/courting a free-spirited female.

You might even run into rjones along the way.

I think coasting fled to Taiwan to avoid the Stonehenge ride. The job was secondary.

I know, it's just the commitment to walking into the office in Lycra with bike in hand and changing in the bathroom. That impression will NEVER fade.

I mentioned it to my boss and he said a few other people do it and wouldn't be a problem. So I'm sold. Plus I can keep my bike in my office.

I hope this isn't my Devil in a white hat!!

The TV in the sbxx house didn't go on all weekend, except for a few minutes of the Finals last night. Even that was a waste of time.
