Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm getting tired of commuting. But when I don't commute, I feel like I am cheating.

My legs often fall asleep when I poop at work. That makes walking back to my desk interesting...

I'm in the same boat as 18hockey (stereotypes)

I'm trying to come up with an excuse to ditch my climbing (rock) partner for the 3rd weekend in a row so that I can ride all weekend. My core and upperbody have plummeted since getting serious about cycling....

I didn't realize until just now that this was my first post here...

Oh, and you people make me feel fat at 6' 167lbs....

I used to work with a guy who refused to take a dump at home. "Why should I do it at home for free when I can come to work and get paid for it?"

- I don't like getting my nice bicycle dirty in the rain.
- I hope Lance 'beats the rap', he's given me years of great cycling to watch.
- Cycling clothes make me feel dorky unless I'm on the bike.
- I'm fat and old but I hear Sporza in my head when I'm riding.

The real confession is that you took them!

- I bought a Catlike Whisper Plus helmet just because it looks cool.
- I don't use a saddle bag because the pros don't use em.
- I started training for a triathlon but backed out when I learned how much the entry fee is. I'll just stick to centuries, thank you.
- I DVR all cycling events in Versus.

Bikes: Have two wheels

I once bought a jersey that didn't have pockets. I did not realize this until I got home.

The lightest I have ever been is 10# 11 ounces. I think I was destine to not be a cyclist, but I have had 2 broken collar bones.

Before it got nicer out in boston, I'd setup my laptop infront of my rollers, and ride while watching downloaded torrents of each week's spring classics coverage - pacing my workout to whatever was happening off the front.

Now that it is nicer, I'm a bit disappointed that I'll have to start to make separate time for catching up with full pro cycling coverage, and riding my bike outside. (5 minute highlights on youtube don't cut it. gotta watch the full version by eurosport, or versus.)

I don't know what HTFU means or most of the acronyms used on this forum...so if someone would be so nice to post em .

I felt cool today when I caught the only biker on a pathway and saw that he had to walk his bike up the hill that i could power over in front of him .

I still keep wondering why bicycles in England don't have a drive train on the left side.
