Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I talked about this to another shop owner here a couple weeks ago, and he'd had someone t-bone a car on a test ride and totally destroy a bike. The manufacturer worked with the shop to repair/replace the demo. No charge to the customer. He said they consider the occasional test-ride crash a cost of doing business.
I'm not at all surprised by this. Legally, you might be responsible for the damage but the shop is probably glad you didn't sue them!

It's nice that you bought a bike from them and it's nice that they were a good shop to buy a bike from!

An obsessive compulsive one, at that.

A criterium is a short course bike race ... for example, 20 laps around a 1 mile loop.

When I win bike races, I don't mention it on this forum.

I sometimes wear bib shorts on the bottom with a Target Dri-Fit t-shirt on top, no jersey.

My tattoos have scared kids who shout at me on the ride home from work. God bless red lights.

Up until 10 minutes ago, I thought I was the only one who knew how to tweak their fd. from making rubbing noise. I also didn't know there was a name for it.

My employer found away around that by providing 1 ply at best. Actually i think it is measured in grits. Got bored once and actually took paint off the stall with it. Rumor has it they have 2 ply in the Executive offices.

I don't mind that people post non-road-bike-related content in the 41.

My confession is:

I couldn't dial it up to 400 watts if big nasty man eating dogs were chasing me.

1. I avoid the Politics and Religion forum like the plague even though I'm an assigned moderator there.

2. During fast group rides I've sworn I was going to buy a cruiser and stop all of this foolishness.
