I bought a discwheel secondhand and the tube was glued backwards ... I have left it like that because I'm too lazy to get it off and replace it.

-I have showed up to a group ride on a hybrid and managed to ride the full 30 miles with the guys
-30 miles is the furthest I have ridden in one trip
-I failed to signal that I was slowing on my last group ride when I was out front (can't call it pulling @ 12-15MPH, can you?) and when we went back to where we started, I dropped the group because getting yelled at pissed me off (plus I was chaffing a bit on my new road bike in cotton shorts)
-I use SPD pedals and MTB shoes on my road bike
-I am way too fat for this sport but I don't give a sh!+

I am the same way with project cars. Once I am done building it, I drive it for a week, and want to sell it and start another car project.

Yeah - not 290 lbs fat (down from over 500)

I'm an über Clyde!

Holy cow! You, sir, are in inspiration!

I look like a reasonably healthy guy, but I weigh over 103kg. If my bike were an animal it would be a sad looking donkey being ridden by a horribly fat man.

phlydude 01-19-12 11:47 AM

Thanks NathanC for pointing out the obvious

I will never be the size of you twinks under 2 bills...hell, I was bigger than this in high school...

Thank you

Not here to inspire but instead here to learn more and in turn become a better cyclist.
If that leads to more weight loss, then so be it!

I will confess though that I recently purchased my 1st bib shorts and I will try them on from time to time and tease my wife (who thinks that I look rediculous). She called me King Kong Bundy...

Good for you. Over 200lbs in weight loss is a sizeable accomplishment.

caloso 01-19-12 11:54 AM

Nice work, phlydude. Hat's off to you.

Dudelsack 01-19-12 04:00 PM

I haven't cleaned my bike's chain in over 2 months.

Can't you just turn it around :-)

Confession: The first "carbon" I gave my wife was a new bike... it was another 2 year 'til she got a ring. Priorities right.

I know few people who would like your wheel to start with going down hills.

Yeah, I can create quite a bit of momentum and get that draft going :)

hollowmen 01-20-12 10:32 AM

1) I spend more time working on my bikes than I do riding them

2) My bike is way too nice for me

3) I am a wuss when it comes to riding in the cold

LOGICK ONE 01-20-12 10:42 AM

I laid a silent but deadly when I was at my friend's house and blamed it on his dog.

I absolutely hate the high socks in vogue now for roadies! I mean COME ON MAAN!! Why the pippi-longstocking look now!!??? I'm old school, so my socks will never creep higher than maybe an inch above my ankle bone. Why not just go back to the old Bell Biker helmets then:o

NYRhyme 01-20-12 09:16 PM

i haven't checked this thread or bike forums regularly since summer ended.
I've been cheating on bikes because of winter and my new car. (anyone else e90post here?)
I'm still fat and itch to ride.
I justify not getting a motorcycle cause i'd never ride my bicycle then.
I'm amazed this thread is still going.

I think the inexpensive aluminum MTB frame I'm building up for my wife looks kind of nice.

My bikes are too good for me.

I'll have what he's having- with an order of "too old" on the side

Why surprised? Guilt and insecurity are at the heart of the human condition, no?
