I play chicken with old Thai men who think it is safe to ride on the wrong side of the road as long as they do so slowly. It is fun to scare the crap out of people doing the wrong thing.

I've been cheating on bikes because of winter and my new car. (anyone else e90post here?)
I'm still fat and itch to ride.[/COLOR]
I justify not getting a motorcycle cause i'd never ride my bicycle then.
I'm amazed this thread is still going.

True. I have a 2005 Harley I never ride. The time I have I cycle. I would ride to work but to far a distance and too many supplies.

DGoeder 01-21-12 09:23 AM

I just bought my wife her first bike and I'm not sure I even care if she rides it. It was just a good excuse to buy another bike.
Also, I like Nicholas Cage movies...

It's not about time for me, but the fact that a bicycle will never get me laid and etc. I've invested too much in my entry bike to plunge deeper into motorcycles xD.

I've started to run this winter instead of logging hours in the basement on my trainer - and I like it.

caloso 01-22-12 12:28 PM

I have a friend who has a Harley: "You know what the difference is between my bike and yours? Mine gets ridden in the rain."

rangerdavid 01-22-12 08:13 PM

we ordered a bunch of girl scout cookies at the office a while back. They should be here this week.

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........................

virtualelvis 01-23-12 07:52 AM

I can't walk past my bike hanging on the wall, without spinning the front
wheel and counting the hours until the next ride..

JasonCarp 04-01-12 12:49 PM

I ride on the painted white line on chip seal or older paved road, it seems smoother than the unpainted pavement. And I moo at cows I go by on rides.

rumrunn6 04-01-12 06:35 PM

still crushed by a hot Frenchy ...

Vlaam4ever 04-01-12 06:44 PM

I fell 3 times today :thumb: at various stop signs since my left foot would not release from my 13 year old Wellgo pedals. I've now fallen a total of 5 times in 13 years of road cycling. All my falls were while I was traveling less then 5 miles per hours...

Lucky for me new 105 pedals arrived yesterday.... If only I had a pedal wrench.

rjones28 04-01-12 07:26 PM

I do not own a pedal wrench.

alexaschwanden 04-01-12 07:50 PM

I tipped over after stallling out on a steep gravel hill.

I came here after reading a story about motorcycles being able to run red lights because they don't trigger the sensors... in the article they made a smarky comment about bicyclers not caring about traffic laws at all, and I thought about how I basically run all red lights except at busy intersections. I'm just not going to sit there at a light. It's safer to cross when there's no traffic waiting anyways then to worry about cars turning in front of you, passing you, whatever. I don't come to a full stop at stop signs.. slowing down to 7-10 mph is enough for me to see if it's safe.. I just don't think traffic laws should apply to non motorized vehicles in the same way. I wouldn't expect joggers to stop and wait for greens, but I see people do it.

I've been pondering since I'm considering getting a motorcycle how many road bikers ride motorcycles and vise versa and what each group thinks of each other... if motorcyclists look down on road bikers or whatever, not that it matters.

MikeyBoyAz 04-01-12 10:59 PM

I ate cake and ice cream with two glasses of apple cider (booze lightweight) while on my low/no carb diet... I totally cheated.

DubC 04-01-12 11:05 PM

I was always annoyed at people riding bikes on non residential roads. Now i ride the same roads on my bike. Go figure.

rekmeyata 04-02-12 12:35 AM

Of course if your at a light that won't change because the sensor won't pick you up then you have to go, you can't just sit there forever. Use some common sense, but that doesn't mean you slow down to 15mph look and blow any light and stop sign you see either...especially in the city, country roads where you can see for miles in any direction is a different story. Most streets with the sensor activated lights have walk buttons you could push to change the light; I do that a lot, traffic is heavy so instead of waiting just push the walk button.

boogoshea 04-02-12 06:05 AM

Prednisone made me faster, while I was taking it.

zatopek 04-02-12 06:45 AM

At least once each day I enter the bike room/shop in my house to sit a few minutes and look at my 9 road bikes hanging there. This visit to the room is independent of going into the room to get a bike to ride or grabbing my kit.

tomng1989 04-02-12 07:10 AM

When I got hit by a car, the first thing I got up to check was the bike, not myself.

Bikegeek1968 04-02-12 09:29 AM

I don't replace my chains as often as I should.

I don't like it when I am riding non-matching wheels. Hubs, rims, valve length and tires must be the same front and rear.

If you ride anything less than Red, Dura-Ace or Super Record, I will think less of you.

I say I am happy racing 35+, but I wish I still had the time and body to do 1-2-Pro. (Nobody else knows this)

Vlaam4ever 04-02-12 10:21 AM

I dont see what the big deal is about PCad. I have a hard time following his logic and rationalle. Sounds like a fun guy to go drinking with, but the internet version is difficult to follow.
