Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

600 calories, 30 gr of fat. I'd say 2 - 3 hours at a good pace with moderate hills.

I have at least 20 pounds to lose but I want to save a couple grams on my water bottle cage.

I love it when a new year's model of my current bike comes out, and the new color scheme looks like ass...

I've felt like ****e every morning and evening for three weeks and have only ridden once in that time. It's driving me completely crazy and my wife seems to think it's a "nice break from all that cycling". Time to just HTFU and ride anyway!

Socks? You also need to add large Bratwurst to the socks. The cool thing about bratwurst is when dogs smell you as you ride by you get the added benefit of having to sprint as fast as you can to max VO2 levels. It's really cool, you should try it.

I put this $15 ebay saddle on my bike and find it comfortable for any kind of riding (longer ride this year was a century)

I've never spent more than $500 on a road bike.

My summer job didn't allow me to ride very much. To make myself feel better about my 60-80 hour work weeks, I channeled all my angst from not riding and became an all-out weight weenie.

I just grilled some NY Strips and drank a (dry) vodka martini while doing so.

I am not sorry.

I am the only black roadie I know.

Someone asked me the other day if I get tan lines.... Ignorance

I have never felt fat my entire life and did all sorts of sports. Now I feel like I am too large for this sport. It is not like I can lose the weight. I am a large person, even at a low fat percentage I am still heavy. I could probably look like a corpse and still fall into the clyde category (90-ish kg). Played American Football and Basketball for most of my life...

It bothers me that my physique was always useful in other sports, but feels out of place on a roadbike.\

There's a group of black cyclists here that work for Maxwell House.

Their team is called "team mocha."

I haven't ridden my bike in almost two months, and I feel great.

I haven't been in here in nearly two months, and I feel even better.

I still laugh at the frenzy and frothing at the mouth that ensues whenever Apple rolls out the newest iThing.
