I haven't ridden to work since I bought a cage at the end of the year.

caloso 01-11-13 01:45 PM

I hate the way my legs feel when I don't shave for awhile.

I mainly stick to the track forum on bimmerforums now. I've found it's marginally better, but mainly for E36 chassis. Not too many E9x's on there.

What color M coupe (I really want a space gray one)? I sold my E90 M3 last year and regret it...

On topic: I let one rip on a rainy ride last summer, and was really afraid I had sharted, but couldn't tell because of the rain...turns out it was a dry one :)

Dudelsack 01-11-13 09:42 PM

I made a Strava segment out of my driveway because that is the only KOM I will ever have.

Gladius 01-11-13 11:29 PM

Ok, my previous post was pretty lame. Here's what I am really confessing:
- A few years ago, before I got back into cycling, I threw out my '86 Centurion because I figured it was worthless and no one would want it. I really regret it now.
- I drink way too much soda and am addicted to the caffeine. I make the excuse that diet soda is even worse for me in order to enjoy the sugary stuff.
- I'm a complete wimp when it comes to wind. I hate riding in the wind and use it as an excuse not to ride.
- Last season I was riding up NCAR (a hill ride in Boulder); on the way up passed an older couple (mid 60s); on the way back down, I saw that they had turned around and went back up again. That guilted me into doing it a second time. As I passed them, I pulled alongside and said "you guys really inspired me today, I'm doing this twice." The woman said "Oh this is our 6th time this morning, we're training for the Triple Bypass." ****ing Boulder!

brilliant.

I wave at other cyclists. (But I'm getting over it).

I've downgraded from the wave to the fingers rising off the bar salute and/or nod. Too many other people just respond to a full wave with hardcore race face, even when they aren't hauling a$$.

They're too busy trying to look hardcore.

Oh, and you can say ass.

Realized this morning that I had been riding the rollers backwards for the last month.

I miss having my legs shaved. But I don't ride enough to warrant taking the time to shave.

I still shave my thighs, though.

LOL @ Driveway Strava Segment -

The only Strava KOM is an obscure section of my commute that I've done enough times to be able to get all the green lights.

I'm getting extremley annoyed by that Ford ad at the top of the page.

I hear the little "PLING!" sound effect when you get a gold coin in Mario whenever I make it through a green light. I start thinking about combo scores when I hit the lights all in a row.

I'm not sure if this is a cycling confession or a video game junkie confession.

There are ads on here? Oh yeah I use AdBlock+ in Firefox. Best plug-in ever.

SempreCycling 01-14-13 01:10 PM

I mess with my fit on my bike way too much. I probably need to get a pro fit, but I'd probably just screw it up adjusting things over time.

That's hilarious. :D

iamtim 01-14-13 03:38 PM

I love my triple crankset. I've ridden standard double, compact double, and triple, and I like the triple best.

I really like the Sora shifter/brake levers. I could have built my current bike 9 speed but I went with 8 so I could use the Soras.

I use a lot of Tiagra components because I like the word "Tiagra".

Like Gladius, I'm a wind-wimp. It is too often the reason I don't ride.

...

Wow, it feels good to get all that off my chest. :D

caloso 01-14-13 04:29 PM

I prefer to work on my bike rather than take it to the LBS. I tell myself that I'm too impatient to wait for the shop to do it. And yet, for months I've had new cables, BB, brake pads, bar tape, etc., sitting in a bin on my workbench, waiting for me to get around to the mid-winter tear-down/rebuild.

Christmas tree still up. No inclination of taking it down.

I live alone. Wonder why.

Don't tell anybody but I obsess about cycling more than I get to do it.

I'm guilty of this too.

I still have a pair of new Kool Stops sitting in the packages for my commuter. It needs new wheels badly enough that I just put some ancient Shimanos on the front. The pads are junk and the rims are almost trashed. I figure I might as well kill both and hope the current setup lasts long enough for me to find out what's up with my future commute (and therefore what wheels to build to replace these).

That's ironic, I'm horrified of the idea that riding my bike could take away my love for driving!

This whole post is hot but those were my favorite. I'd give up my Allez if it meant I got to date a 5'4" 100lb hottie who loves to ride.

My confessions:
I took off the dork disk before I bothered to figure out what it was for.
I got into riding again after a 20 year break because of the womens Olympic race in London.
I secretly want to run a tri, but couldn't run to save my life.
I made a wave file of cowbells and put it on my phone to encourage myself.
