Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ummm... I swapped my platform pedals onto my road bike last Saturday night for a casual group ride where I didn't want to fool with cycling shoes. Actually worked and felt pretty nice with some skater-style shoes. But I was also wearing a new pair of jeans, which left some blue markings on my white saddle.

Oh well, all the more reason to get a black saddle, yes?

The ups guy that serviced a store i used to work at shaved his legs. Nobody said anything to him, but some of the ladies talked about it after he left almost daily. Didn't even faze them when I let them know he raced bikes. I always thought they were bitties for talking about him.

I'm sure I've heard it before, but I don't think I could identify dubstep versus any other kind of dance music if I heard it played.

Before your black saddle purchase is made you may be able to salvage the white one with a Mr. Clean magic eraser.

As a result of my commuter being a fixed gear bike, I ride my fixed gear more often than my roadie. But I make it up to the carbon mistress by having her in between my legs for quadruple or more the commuting mileage combined on weekends. Oh yeah this must imply that I love fixed gears. Which I do happen to own a couple of because track = fixed gear = sw33t fixie.

I have been working too, too hard, 16-18 hrs a day x two weeks. Have not cycled once during this time, yet I have been on BF. I feel like a fraud.

I read all 70 pages of this thread at work.

I am obsessed with matching all my gear, from bottle cages to jersey.

I only bought my latest road bike because I think it is sexy.

I love seeing other cyclists when I ride and always smile/wave/raisemyfingersoffofthebarwave yet they often do not return the favor and i despise them for it, but I will never stop greeting them joyfully.

This is the first winter where I barely did any cycling. Dont have my rollers in my current place, have been too busy to go to the gym regularly, and the snow/salt and chemicals on the road has been eating away at my bikes in previous years and I don't want to deal with replacing parts because of it yet again.

As a result... I gained.... 5 #$%@^ kilograms. I know they will be gone in another few months. Even so...

Is it so you push yourself by trying to outrun the music? You clever dog, you.
