Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And how many people have been involved in the studies that have been done?

Newspapers are full of "Studies show that ..." ... and when you read the article, you discover that the study had 10 test subjects.

The only study that matters to me is the Pcad BF Papal Coumadin Tolerance Project, which will be running concurrently with the Pcad Gomer Tolerance Initiative and the BF Pcad BF Overload Rebellion.

And Machka, please. I know you had a negative experience with this drug, but you didn't have highly attuned World Class Cycling Fitness Level to offset this medication's side effect.

OK, we keep seeing references to Botto in the past tense, but the earlier Q has yet to be answered;
What happened to Botto?

IOW, he is in self-exile?
I always thought he served the same role to BF, as the Spike character served in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

After I'm out of here and back on my bike this won't ever happen again.

Trust me on this.

They are releasing me in about an hour. I ask my doctors if I can ride my bicycle. The general doctor attending physician says 'give it a week or so'. The pulmonary specialist comes in an hour later and I tell him what the other doctor said and he replies: 'you can ride, just take it easy'. He doesn't seem to think this is dangerous. I do have a big blood clot in the right leg, but I am responding very well clinically (leg looks 95% of normal, I feel much better, etc.). I will probably hold off until the weekend.

I'll be giving myself the lovenox shots. I'll be back at my desk by this afternoon. So this whole thing sucked somewhat, but it turned out to be slightly less of a medical clusterfark than I anticipated. All things considered I'm lucky I'm not a dead bike weenie.

I let my health and riding go because of pressures in my business. Time to re-balance. Making a living is important, but it only matters if you're still actually living.

Glad to hear you are being released. Perspective and priorities are key to a balanced life (and keeping alive). Besides, I would have quit strolling through these threads years ago if not for the witty posts like yours.

Damn they're letting him out. I mean congratulations.

Time to re-balance. Making a living is important, but it only matters if you're still actually living.
Truer words were never spoken. I preach this all the time. I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable.
Take it easy and take your time. No point in rushing in.
