Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You avoid the doctor at your own risk in my opinion. But it is your choice.
Friend broke his collarbone about two months ago. He tried to normal healing method, ended up getting surgery a month later anyway. I'm opting into surgery on that one right away if/when I break mine. If you don't have health insurance that's another story, but if you do, avoiding the doctor completely on that one is dumber than believing in chemtrails.

In the end that was their last resort. But ultimately they couldn't find a large enough dosage of oxycontin that I couldn't tolerate.

I got out of the hospital a week ago. Rode yesterday, then today, averaged 21.3 mph on the little 6 mile TT course over here, which was slow, but not as slow as I feared. Right leg is still pretty swollen, but hopefully blood clot will clear over the next several weeks and that will get normal. It's not painful. Breathing is almost normal now, lung pain 95%+ gone. Actually feeling surprisingly good on the bike considering how fat and out of shape I really am.

I pour my heart and soul into my Near Death Experience Thread and my flock calls this 'BS'.

Fortunately, the serenity that informs the BF Holy See elevates me above such Fredly Scorn.

I haven't been away from the site, but somehow I missed a pertinent medical detail: Did you originally do something that caused a clout to form in your leg? Or did it happen on its own?

I'm wondering about what symptoms to look for.

Good to know you're better, and this looks like a good spot to toss out a random biking video. This might have been a good workout for the hospital room: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fir6neas6I8

Ugh!
Who wants to go riding when the drunks and sleepy drivers are at their peak?
