Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Surely, you should have some Oakleys, being the schwag aficionado you are. I too, almost bit it in gravel today. Idiots tar and chipped my favorite hill climb road. The descent was tricky with the gravel, but I could see it all, with my much darker lens in my Oakley Flak Jackets. I can't help but think if I go down at 40mph+ on a tar, and chip road, that ain't gonna end well. I do love that road however, and I've ridden it two days in a row now.

I don't like Oakley glasses. I'm a Tifosi Slip man. But I do like their bags, I have a cool Oakley briefcase/computer bag. Love that.

I'll tell you Solo those Cervelos are sweet friggin bikes. That bike was great today. I've never been as happy with bikes as I am with these Cervelos.

I love Oakleys, especially the Flak Jackets. The optical clarity of Oakleys is better than any other sunglasses. I can't use anything else. I also use their Tech socks for cycling, and their Assault gloves for racing crits, and their Assault boots for mowing the lawn, and I use the last two when I go shooting as well, a long with the sunglasses.

You are correct about the bikes as well. After riding a hard fast hell loop last night on the S2 w/404s. This morning I rode my Trek. I am starting to like that bike less, and less. Seriously thinking about selling it again, but it sure is awful handy to have an extra bike.

I agree. I absolutely love my Flak Jackets, but if something happens to them, they'll be replaced with something I can get much cheaper. I got my Flak Jackets as freebies. Not that they're not worth it, it's simply that I'm cheap.

I admire Oakley design and marketing, but decided long ago that riding glasses can't be $150+ items. Not the way I abuse/lose them. I actually love the Tifosi Slips.

I was able to compare today's time with my time last September, I was about 1:15 faster today. Still don't know how I actually placed in today's event, but that doesn't mean anything to me.

It's okay. I have a bike with me in the desert now. It works fine, but it's no Schwinn.

I am that cheap too, but my dumb ass has lost no less than 4 flack jackets. This last set is white so they are easier to find. Speaking of which where are they? Oh that's right over there. Lost one set on a jet ski, one set I know I left on the bumper of my truck, the other two I don't remember. The worst thing about Oakleys is loosing or breaking them.

stepped on my Flak Jackets changing a tire last weekend. did break, but damaged one of the lenses. bought two new paid on ebay, should be here today. the coating on the oakley lenses is NOT very durable and cannot be repaired (fyi). I'm starting to like the flak's better than my jawbones.

We claim progress not perfection.

Although when it comes to the Schwag, we pursue the perfection.

Got the TT results. 4 Cat IV's registered. I was DFL (of course) in the 4's but not by too much. 24.8 mph average speed on the outbound leg, 22.7 mph on the return leg, 23.7mph average speed overall. That performance would have slotted me in for 3rd place in the 5's. Unfortunately the Cat 5 Podium Girls are road construction workers wearing rouge.

Rockin the TT with the DVT 7.17.2011. Note the surgical sock. I think that makes me even more aerorer.

First you'll have to get your TT speed up over 30 mph on that Rt. 29 course.

I believe no1's responding because you often dismiss other people's opinions more often than not, or, possibly, people are frightened by your disposition. Either way, I like your Cervelo. Keep truckin'!
