Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pcad's Weight Loss Thread

I'm getting progressively skinnier. My pants are a little loose. This thread will be complicated by the fact that I will never actually weigh myself, so I can't tell you how much I actually weigh. Why bother? I can tell you that I was 188-190 lbs at the doctor about a month ago. I think may be down 10 lbs. after riding 1100+ miles in the last 30 days and eating dinners of salad, chicken and veggies. Who can say? I won't stop until my mother is alarmed, then I'll know I'm only 5 lbs or so away from a good cycling weight.

Discuss.

If this thread doesn't get at least 300 replies by the weekend, I'm going on a hunger strike by the way.

If I ate a cupcake every time you posted this, I would be extremely fat.

And you would weigh -1,960 pounds.

I dropped 30 lbs and didn't get around to getting my wedding ring resized. Well, it fell off at some point yesterday and I have no idea when or where, and we haven't been able to find it... On the plus side, it's another potential way to gauge weight loss, I guess.

1100 miles in a month. Thats great.
Since things at the business have calmed down Im doing my mid week rides again.

if i lost any weight, people would confuse me with auschwitz survivors.... good luck on the weight loss, now HTFU, ride, and quit posting so much so you can HTFU!

Good luck! not weighing in isnt a bad idea to me, youll lose fat, gain muscle, but muscle is heavier than fat, so scale readings wont show fitness level so its a -1 in my book

my first response to the ever "famous" pcad

As of my last weigh in, I was down almost 50 pounds , but, I only weigh myself one a year -- on July 4.

188 pounds is HUGE!!! I want to be HUGE!!! I'm currently HUGE+, but i'm down 53 pounds from last year. 13 more to go and i'm where you are now.

seriously dude, with all the papal garb it's hard for us to tell, so we appreciate your confession. its good for the soul (not the bike brand).

..... also, you lose more riding than posting. Back on that bike. More intervals. Less food. Make your Mama alarmed like a good son!!

I think you should try laxatives......... lots and lots of laxatives.

World English Dictionary
laxative (ˈlæksətɪv) n 1. an agent stimulating evacuation of faeces — adj 2. stimulating evacuation of faeces [C14 (originally: relaxing): from Medieval Latin laxātīvus, from Latin laxāre to loosen]

Laxātīvus -- That was my porn name.

It's funny because whenever my mom sees me she always tells me I'm too skinny and I need to eat something. I remind her I weight the same as I have for the last 12 years and she still says I look like I'm losing weight.

I work in a piping products testing lab and have a handy floor scale (that's even callibrated to ISO 17025) and weight myself after long rides or the day after a hard workout. Sometimes I haven't eaten or drank enough and don't realize it until I hop on the scale. It's good for keeping after things like that, I find.

With no weigh-ins, this is a weightloss thread that I can enjoy.

The only way you're going to get close to cycling weight is if you weigh-in here:

You're up at 2:41 a.m. Lack of sleep will help the weight melt off. You guys talk about your weight more than TMZ talks about Kim Kardashian's rump.

Get Di2. I hear it renders body weight irrelevant

Why do we keep responding every time he comes up with a thread like this? Oh, and I'm just posting because I don't want him to go on a hunger strike. No one should go on hunger strikes. Ever.
