Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We rarely get more than 3", so I'm keeping it real.

I could shovel more though, assuming I don't get frostbite. I'm versatile.

Last year I had to shovel 18" of snow off my driveway and off my parking lot at my office. TWICE!!

I enjoyed it, but only because I was bored. That was the most snow ever in this town.

It makes no sense, I know.
Makes sense to me. I have adopted cats that need homes. I only had Charlie for 1.5 years before he died of heart problems. He had been rescued from a cat lady with 200 cats. He then spent 2 years in a no kill shelter where they let the well adjusted cats roam. I adopted him because he needed a home. I adopted Charlie who had also been at the shelter for two years. I've had him 6.5 years now. While these cats started out afraid of people, within 6 months they were very friendly and after a year, they became very affectionate cats. There are so many unwanted animals out there; I don't know how people can breed more solely for the purpose of selling them. It is always heartwarming to heard that other people consider "hard luck" animals worthy of all the attention and veterinary care.

Go Cougars !!!

Although I don't imagine they're involved in any of the fancy Bowl games since I don't recall hearing them mentioned lately.

I wish. On a good day my driveway takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get it to where my wife's car will get out. Seems like we always get that wet stuff that freezes, not the nice powdery, easy to shovel snow. My driveway is around 150 feet long, makes for good cross training. Luckily I have a really cool neighbor with a snowblower that generally takes care of it for me.

No running or jumping for 2 weeks. So I doubt she will be racing this season. And she was a Cat3 too.

Yemen's got a brand new island! That's right geology and geography buffs. A volcano under the Red Sea has been hard at work and it looks like the island it's produced is pretty solid.

I'm guessing liberal use of velcro and/or duct tape.

LOL. Now those comments make sense. Try 1-2 feet of heavy snow on even a moderate drive and walk and suddenly shoveling is a 1-2hr back breaking affair. Mind you I still choose the back breaking old way but masochism can be fun and my wonderful retired neighbor often beats me to the walks with his quad plow. He's like a kid on Christmas every time it snows enough to plow...

she will too. Funny story about that. This cat has the worst howl I have ever heard. And her knee really hurt. When I brought her to the vet, she was screaming, and every time, I would hear an echo of the exact scream from the back. The Vet tech said to me, "Do you want a bird?"

Our vet has a parrot living at the clinic who will imitate ANY sound. Yesterday she chose "screaming cat".
