Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just came back from my run. What a foolish thing to have done.

I think I did about 2.5 miles in 20 minutes.

Still stupid.

I've found something I hate about the cycling industry. Items I was coveting last winter, are not just being released now. The season is friggen' over, but yeah now the Vuka Sprint is available. Not to mention it appears the new Specialized S-Works Toupe Pro Carbon is released.

Which brings me to another thing I hate. My SLR Kit Carbonio Flow, I bought as a result of not wanting to wait any longer on the S-Works Toupe, was 131g, when it clearly says on the side of it, 125g. Idiots don't know how to use scales.

pcad, do you feel better knowing there are now two teams that have choked as hard as the 2007 Mets who were up 7 games with 17 to play? Braves were up 10.5 games on August 26. Red Sox were up 9 games on September 3. Ouch.

Nobody will ever choke as hard as the 2007 Mets. Their legacy is secure.

How do you like the S Works seat and what did you pay for it?

Great night of baseball. GREAT night!

No matter who you root for you have to admit baseball last night was EPIC!

But I'm extra happy about Boston's demise. Tough week for New England when you include the Patriots. Such a shame.

I don't have one yet. That one belongs to someone else. I will get one over the winter most likely. I do like my SLR a lot, but it has some tears from crashing, and that makes me want to upgrade, and move it on down to the cross bike.

Correct, hitting your target is the answer, and the reason you have a weapon out in the first place.

Oh sure. Particularly for Mets fans who watched J. Reyes win the NL batting title like a weasel by pulling himself out of the game after his first inning bunt single. The Splendid Splinter must have been spinning in his friggin grave. God help me the Mets suck.
