Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1...You still see a lot of LeMonds around here. I own seven of them and do not have to Google them to form an opinion.

Love this bike but I must admit that a Litespeed Ultimate has knocked it into the #2 spot. I prefer the longer TT of the LeMond but have become enamored with the Ti.

I am getting older though.

A common color scheme. Nicely done despite that foot locker under the seat.

Not sure what model this is, but I like the color scheme.

Not my bikes, however.
2nd bike is a dark green Croix de Fer. I want one of those.

I believe the largest was 61, but I think they were measured c-c. So it may be close to a 63 c-t if that's your size.

I just built up a 2002 LeMond Zurich 853 with Campy Centaur as a winter training bike. What a beautiful ride.

If it's such a beautiful ride, why is it your winter bike?

Nice rides Billy. I especially like the blue one. They are sweet bikes, wish Greg would make a new line.

I recently purchased two LeMond bikes/framesets. Both are 55cm 853 Pro Team tubesets (2001 and 2002).

Was searching for one; purchased the eBay frameset, then came across the Craigslist complete bike and couldn't pass up the deal, hence two in the stable.

My question is has anyone experienced both the 853 Pro Team LeMonds and the standard 853/725 853/525 versions? Is there a difference in ride quality?

Thanks,
Rich

I've wondered that as well. But my Moots CR is still my main ride.
