I'm 2 for 3 on Performance Forte tires so far.
Slick City - Yes, excellent tire.
Strada - One good one still running, one bad one wore through in less than 1000 miles.
Damn, the Stradas went back up again. They were 7 or 8 bucks just a couple of days ago

I had a pair of Forte tires maybe four years ago...I don't remember the model and have no idea if they compare to recent tires. They looked nice and felt OK for a few hundred miles, but quickly developed numerous hemmorages and flatted frequently, and I tossed them after about 800 miles. You get what you pay for.
Didn't you just start a thread about campy electric. Why are you looking at cheap tires. Make up your mind. Are you one of tho$e guy$, or are you a cheap bastard. You have to choose.

I buy mid-grade to high-end tires. They're the only thing touching the ground so it makes no sense to me to go cheap, unless your whole damn bike is cheap.

I'd guess CST as well.

I've got big fat 700x35 forte tires to commute on my CX bike. Heavy as all get-out, but zero problems. At about $13 each, I can't imagine what I'd be getting by spending $45+ on similar Schwalbe or Conti tires.
But I use ProRace3 and Conti 4-seasons on the road bike.

+1ing the "Rubber is the part that keeps you going where you want to be" motto, buy nice tires. I ride Pro3Races 100% of the time. I'd rather wear through tires and have the possibility of flats for the knowledge I'm riding really grippy rubber.

If you had any type of reading comprehension you would see that I was not shopping around for an electric groupo but commenting on the review of said Campy Groupo in the latest road bike action....
That being said I do need new tires for My Carbon Bianchi C2C with 105, I see no reason to dump $75 on tires if I do not need to.
here is the tire I was asking about.
But then again explaining this to people like you is a waste of my time.

If you are looking for bang for buck tires I'd recommend Michelin Krylion Carbons. There easy to find for $30 and since Michelin is currently re-naming all their tires a lot of places have been having sales so you may find them for less. I just got some Pro 3 Race at Bonktown for $25.
Anyway, the Krylion doesn't ride as well as a true race tire but it's not bad and they are extremely durable. I'd wager you'd do better on miles per dollar spent with the Krylion than with any Forte tire. They are also not bad weight wise if that is a concern.

I've ridden on some of the Performance branded tires for a couple of years
now on two different bikes. They are very good for the money (at least
the ones I got). Mine state made in Thailand, so not Cheng Shin, I think.
They are better tires by far than the Cheng Shin branded stuff I've seen.
That said, they are not as good as Michelin Carbon's, or Cont GP's, or
Schwalbe's for round town and touring. But you have already seen
for yourself they cost a lot less, and come in a variety of sizes.
Performance changes the people who contract their products from
time to time, so YMMV.
