Pretty sure he mean 1500 Plus 500 for a total of 2000. Which makes it qualify.

This is a fantastic new thread. I love the fact there are so many different bikes than the reg Hot or Not thread. Many cool bikes sleeping out there because of the hostility in the regular thread.

The seatposts are not adjusted properly as these pics are just post built and pre fit. The saddle on the allez need to drop a bit and the one on the giant needs to raise quite a bit. I setup the hoods and handlebars different for 2 reasons. One, the sora stuff is not ergo so it just looks massive, and 2 on the touring bike I will be utilizing an upright hood style a little more.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll post again after the 5700 Black group gets added to the touring bike.

Edit: We are not including stuff we get for far less due to sponsors correct? Cause my carbon bike is EASILY WAY under budget for me, but for anybody else would be over budget just stock or as it came (being it was custom).

Very nice for 550. I've tilt those bars down a bit and pick up a new saddle...unless that saddle is comfortable to you. :/

bars and saddle are on the way out

Boy, this gives me an idea!

I'm thinking about starting to commute to work by bike. I've got a 2008 FCR3, it's the bike that got me started into cycling. It's been sitting in my storage shed for three years. Through the normal progression that most of us go through, I've got a complete nine speed Tiagra compact drivetrain, plus spare stems and bars, just sitting around. I'm okay with the wheels that came on it. It's got eyelets for fenders and a rack. This might just work! :)

It works out really nicely. With your 9 speed drive train you wouldn't even have to change the crank. These bike are really fast for hybrid builds and really comfortable for a road build. Plus, like you said it has all the eyelets for racks and stuff. I use this as my touring bike with front and rear rack and panniers.

Hah, that's pretty funny. Mine would look even more similar if the original owner hadn't cracked the steerer while tightening the stem. Oh well, I love the Easton fork anyway. It looks like your basement walls haven't started to fall apart yet, either. Nice build. I like the white bar tape. You must sit completely differently on those 2 bikes. Your drop is completely different.

bruin11 02-14-12 12:41 PM

Not sure exactly how much everything cost since it is a mix of old and new but definitely less than $1500.

i like that bike. that is my ideal budget modern bike. a reasonable alloy frame dressed in campagnolo 10. to top it off, you made it look better than most stock bikes in that price range.

What bartape is that? Like the bike BTW.
