Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here's my budget-ish build so far.

8 Speed Veloce dt shifters with 10 speed index gear
Record Ti FD
Record RD(not pictured, just got it in the mail an hour ago)
Centaur Cranks(just need rings)
Veloce Brakes
Chorus Cassette
Record/Mavic wheelset
Modolo QT-EXE levers
C-Record aero seatpost
Mavic stem for now(I have a silver cinelli 120mm, but its on my track bike)
I would like to find a white Selle Italia Flite, Although the look of that turbo is growing on me
So far I have about $740 into this, not including any parts I had prior to starting the build. I'd say that's not bad for a 10 speed mostly all Italian Bianchi. To think it all started with getting a good deal on that frame, I had no idea it would turn into this.

that is right up my alley. ive got a set of those brake levers (NOS) on my coffee table and a pair of record bar ends that i debated using as down tube. to top it off i have been lusting after a bianchi that color.

ive got a set of 39/53 chorus rings on the shelf as well. if interested, PM me. we may be able to work out a trade.

Bikes: Have two wheels

Way under the budget. Only a couple of original parts on it.

Cool bike. I'm building a 2005 right now, though with a mix of SRAM stuff. How's it ride?

I figured I'll keep it a while and if I find deals in the future on upgrades I'll slowly replace with cool stuff.

flatten your saddle and rotate your bars down. as it stands now with your saddle nose pointed down and your bars pointed up it looks odd.

Klein all cabled up, still playing with bar rotation and shifter position before bar tape. Wheels next week.

I got black Fizik but what does everyone think of white, silver, or soft silver?

Bikes: A couple

This one was right at $2K (most expensive parts were $400 for frame/fork/crankset, $750 for the Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLs, and $200 for the SRAM Rival shifters):

This one was around $1,800:

Thanks for the heads up. I still want to get fitted properly as I've just bought this but haven't ridden yet. The angle of the pic makes it look worse than in person.

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for the frame/fork? I want to see if I got a good deal too or if I overpaid.

Changed my mind. $1500 new. With wheels and pedals, about $1900.
