I'm not sure that Reynolds carbon wheels would be considered 'Budget'

Doesn't mean he paid that much.
Anyone who wants bugly64's carbon frame can get it on a budget. Anyone who wants tayguer's awesome pro-lite frame can get it cheap on Ebay, maybe even negotiate a great deal with other parts included. It makes sense to post a budget bike that implies that anyone who wants to build a great looking bike on a budget can. Not hoping somehow an old granny with dementia sells her son's Cervelo R5 in a garage sale for $200.

The black bike is my commuter, which in the picture is running some bulky, knobby tires with fenders. Now that the snow is gone, it's running mudflaps and 700x23 slicks. 500 dollar bike. Second is my fun bike that I take on group rides, out for personal rides, and on longer trips. Apparently I need to change the bottle cages.

The new SL-K crankset and bottom bracket puts me at $1075. I'm done upgrading for now. What tires are those, I'm in the market for some orange tires? And from where? |

They say Vittoria Rubino Pro on them. But that might be a ruse.
I can't see that good anymore, wise guy. But I take pleasure in knowing that in 30 years you'll be in the same boat. |

Vittoria Rubino Pro II Tire 700 x 23 Orange/Black Folding - Modern Bike I'm happy with the color and after 700 miles they hardly seem like they've worn at all. My only complaint is on wet pavement. That hard compound that makes them durable also makes them very slick in the rain. I've learned the hard way to be careful and now run them at 90-95 psi when it's wet. |

The last two bikes in the herd. I know the Orbea isnt set up properly for the picture but at the same time. Its not necessarily following a color scheme either.

Blue is much nicer. Why does it have a derailleur? Looks like a fixie with a derailleur. Is there something else I don't see or know about?
|
Its a single speed actually. The Cinelli proxima had vertical drop outs. The derailleur is actually a surly singleator. Its to add tension to the chain.

2012 Trek Madone 5.9
Got the frame for a killer deal of $450 (was a warrentry replacement that never got used or built up from work) I moved my 105 group set from my old bike over and bought the missing headset and the cable guides that sit in the frame. Total cost was around $700 but since i sold my old frame it only cost me around $400 out of pocket with a new garmin 510 to boot. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=374611 Once I have my fit dialled in I'll be cutting the steerer tube. I'll also be getting some look keo carbon blade pedals in the next little while. Then time to save up for a set of Bontrager Aeulus 5 wheels. |
