Nothing to see here. Just take the blue pill and move along.

Otherwise, I'd say 1. Get a good wetsuit, 2. Get some open water practice before race day--the last thing you need is the HR and anxiety boost of having that be the first time you're swimming and can't see the bottom, and 3. When the gun goes off, wait 5-10 seconds for the mob to take off. You're not in it for the win, and it'll help keep you from getting kicked in the face. ;)

Thanks for the tips. I can ride ok and I can run 8 minute miles which is nothing special but I think acceptable....but it takes me 40 seconds to swim one length of the pool 25m which I know is pretty weak.

Count your blessings, I can't swim at all despite trying many times.

Maybe, maybe not.

Only "selected" banned members make it onto the censor list.

Current shimano Dura-Ace is 7900.

Next year they are going to 9000.

What happened to the 8's??

I'm thinking they will be going to 11 speed. If so, I'm not sure if the current di2 will be upgradable.

Yes. And I am too lazy to see if they are going to an even thinner chain, but if that's true that will also suck.

Yes they talk about a thinner chain which will make it incompatible with 7900.

Other than being incompatible what is the problem with a thinner chain?

If the links are thinner, they'll stretch more quickly.

Maybe this is just my retrogrouch showing, but I cut my teeth on 6 speed chains which would need to be replaced every 12,000 miles or so. Like every 2 years for me.

Now current 10 speed chains last 3000 miles which means a change every 6 months.

I suspect the 11 speed ones may need to be changed every 2000 or 2500 miles. Not a deal breaker but annoying to me.

See, Jobs worshipers - even the granddaddy of iTunes preferred vinyl.

Nah - he knew that many people would choose convenience over fidelity *if* it was a choice that had to be made. I think that it's fair to say, though, that he envisioned a time when it wouldn't have to be an either/or proposition - we are nearly there. Rumors of lossless iTunes downloads have been around for years, this confirms it; I just hope that it isn't shelved with his demise.

LesterOfPuppets 02-06-12 10:44 AM

I love the HDTracks downloads I have. If catalog was deeper and price cheaper I'd have a LOT more of them.
