Please keep the bike related posts out of my thread. Thank you. :D

Off topic threads are typically not allowed in the 41, however, we allow the addiction thread, which is an off topic thread and a lot of people seem to enjoy it. If it gets into politics and religion then it will be seperated and a new thread will be created in the appropriate forum.

If you would prefer that we start going strictly by the rules please feel free to report the thread. I'm sure a lot of people would really enjoy us moving every non-topic post / thread to foo.

I can assure you, there have been plenty of posts in addiction that have not interested me in the least. I somehow manage to ignore them.

Sure we go off topic on this thread but talking about guns is political and therefor not appropriate. It no different than talking about pro life issues.

Guns are an object, not a belief. Just like a guitar is an object, not music. Nobody is forcing you to own a gun. You don't want one, don't buy one. I have no interest in guitars, I'm not getting one.

How exactly is me saying that I own a gun and I like to shoot targets political?

This photo is political just like the assault weapon and do not belong on BF!

I support having a free-for-all.

You can't really debate issues in R&R anyway--the people there are too weird.

Guns and gun control is political issue some people like them some people don't. Political discussions are not appropriate for a Road Bike Forum!

Exactly.

I'm guessing v70cat is not a card-carrying NRA member.

LowCel's pointer on ignoring stuff that doesn't interest you should be taken to heart by many people on this site.

Jen goes away and this thread totally degenerates....so sad.

I have done some hunting and own a gun. But posting photos of guns "with the willful intent to annoy the anti gun crowd here" is wrong!
I think that LowCel's pro gun bias is causing him to act inappropriately.

Any time you feel that way you should either contact an administrator or hit the little triangle.

For the record, this post was made on 2/7/12, long before anyone made a post to "annoy" anyone.

How do you know that v70cat doesn't work in the restaurant industry?

v70cat, I apologize if my attempt at humor led to another straw being piled on a hot button. I always figure Addiction is good for a laugh, so I try to keep it light, even in my talk of China and ethics. P&R seems very preachy to me, and this seems very tongue in cheek, but if that distinction was not made, I apologize.

For the most part, it is a small circle that frequently posts in the Addictions, and I barged my way in, to a certain extent. I figure it is a bunch of folks sitting around a coffee table having a stream of consciousness oral dumping. It is all for fun.

I bought the wheels for the Cinelli at Bicycle Wheel Warehouse, and I am talking to them about a set of 700c with 135 OLD rear for the wife's hybrid. Good folks to deal with so far.

I saw those. They may be the ones. I am also looking at the Deore/Rhyno Lites for $95, mainly because I ended up with mostly Deore LX components.

I'm gonna make the rounds at the LBSes first, to see what I see.

You live close enough that I probably could. Just so you know, there will be no walnuts in the aforementioned coffee cake. I do not like nuts. I don't like their kids, nor do I like their friends. No nuts.
