Alcohol actually makes a great target. I used to shoot with my brother, a recovering alcoholic, and he loved to get cases of cheap beer and take them out with his SKS. Did have a strange satisfaction to it.

Any recommendations on a .223 semi-auto that isn't an AR clone?

Which Non-Carbon Rifle should I buy?
 

Hi - long time listener, first time caller.

I'm looking for a .223 semi-auto rifle, but am open to a carbine. I got into shooting occasionally two years back, with a bolt action Marling .22, wooden stock, simple sights with no scope. I shot every once in awhile, but have lately been meeting up with my brothers and shooting more.

So I have the bug to senselessly spend money, err, upgrade for performance, and was thinking about a composite stock, .223 semi. I have heard that composites will add at least ten rounds per minute, and really want the additional performance.

But I don't want an AR. They totally do not match my shooting kit.

thoughts?

By the way, I'm 205 lbs, 6'3", and relatively fit, as I cycle most of my free time< if any of that matters.

If you scroll through the pics fast, can't tell if its guns with subliminal bikes or bikes with subliminal guns, and both have this one blond haired braid pic that pops in. And many face palms.

I'm done with the guns, and the ethics, and will keep it strictly about bikes. My gun post was actually meant as a spoof of the carbon bikes threads but that apparently missed the target.

Sounds like Rapha's getting some big new digs down in Portland with a 35 seat screening room in which they'll be showing Paris Roubaix, TdF, etc. Would be pretty cool to see racing on a big screen. Hoping they let the unwashed masses in.

This post underlines a problem that is occurring. Normally political discussions are considered not appropriate for forum sites like BF yet after requests to stop he continues to post many many gun photos.

Off topic threads are typically not allowed in the 41, however, we allow the addiction thread, which is an off topic thread and a lot of people seem to enjoy it. If it gets into politics and religion then it will be seperated and a new thread will be created in the appropriate forum.

I can assure you, there have been plenty of posts in addiction that have not interested me in the least. I somehow manage to ignore them.

In related news, I should probably start looking for a set of wheels for the bike I am building for my wife pretty soon.
