That is on the low side of the actual figure.

I like both bands. I prefer Coldplay. But Radiohead is growing on me.

I really did hate both bands when I first heard them. But that happens with me time and again. I hated the Grateful Dead at first, later became a Dead fan.

No, its just the road that Germans like to take to Paris.

Speaking of non-cycling activity, I went to the Y last night and swam.

There was a fatty in the lane next to me who was swimming approx 40% faster than me.

Sigh. I think I need a swim coach.

The fatty had better flotation.

It sure was/is cold in Fl must of made the Tri Jen did even harder.

Has anyone ever priced residential solar energy systems?

I heard they were cost effective when the tax credit was in place. I am not sure if the tax credit is still there or if it expired.

I am more interested in a geothermal heating system but haven't priced them either.

I just had a worthless thought streaking though my head. Naturally, my next thought was to post it here.

Weight aside, her music does nothing for me. I recognize her vocal talent, but have no desire to listen to an album full of heartache-y BS.

Another chance of snow tonight.

I wonder if crews will be spraying the roads again.

Yes. The numbers are getting closer, but they don't quite add up yet. But soon.

Velo Vol 02-13-12 09:39 AM

What I'm fishing for is a rough cost estimate of a basic system.

Very dependent on how many kWh you need to generate to meet your electricity needs.

LesterOfPuppets 02-13-12 09:50 AM

I'm more stoked about water power. More consistent if you have a creek with good drop on your property.

I'm waiting for coffee, will post links for home solar once I get on real computer.

"Hi, I'm 220 lbs and I want a 1200 grams, $600 wheelset."

Only on BF would the above come from someone with a Sheldon Brown Achievement icon.

Velo Vol 02-13-12 09:57 AM

According to this site, you can now order panels for $1/watt. But I have no idea what else you need for a system, or how much installation runs.

LAJ 02-13-12 12:31 PM

2 co-workers took advantage of it when the credits were available. Structural integrity is a big thing. One had to install new roof shingles that were stronger, and then get it approved by the bullies in his HOA, and all that crap. He spent over 60K, before credits. He was rather proud of the fact that he would be able to sell power back to the utility company, once it was installed. The first full quarter he was able to take advantage of that, he did receive a credit.

It was way more than $6.00. It was almost $7.00, as a matter of fact.
