Seems just yesterday the Madonne was the cat's meow.

Now, Not!

Outstanding!

Who can keep up with all this pointless updating.

pablosnazzy 02-09-12 10:32 PM

how do we do pointed updating?

Soloist Assassin 02-09-12 10:42 PM

Well, I just received a message from Tom Stormcrowe overturning the warning I received earlier. So I suppose I can post here again in this thread again. I deleted my subscription to this thread and everything.

Well, I have the same frame, so that should tell you something. The other day when I rode it I was amazed at how stable, and smooth, it felt in comparison to my other bicycles. I was purposely hitting bumps, and bunny hopping potholes. I am sure some of it can be attributed to it's atrocious weight, and some to it's lengthy wheelbase. Speaking of the weight, I was glad I had my 11-28 on that pig pulling it up the many hills I rode that day. In any event, the frame is a few years younger than I am, and still rides good. Even after being T-boned on it by an SUV a few years back. It was once my first road bike, and while it is no race bike by any means. However, I'll keep riding it for one use or another until it fails. I've been planning to have it powder coated this summer btw. I've got love for crappy bikes too.

Personally I think the newer Cervelos have gone down the crapper, at least if you compare the S5 to the S2 or S3. While they may be more aero, they are ugly(expeciallt 56cm up), and heavier, unless you go with the VWD model, that is ridiculously priced. The SLC/S2/S3, bikes I think will go down in history as some of the best advancements in carbon fiber road bike frame design. There may be truth to your statement Billy, only time will tell. It's also very hard to imagine a R5CA would be considered, anything short of huge step forward in lightweight frame design. To be fair to the Schwinn, it is a steel touring bike, not a race bike so it isn't a real fair comparison. It's still a good solid bike, I've just had pleasure of riding bikes much newer, and much more refined, that take much less effort to propel up hills.

I've never liked the Madones for some reason. I find it inexplicable that Trek still fails to build a aero road frame. There is the simple fact that it is shaped like a school bus that just make me cringe. Like most Treks they always seem to coat them with bad, and heavy paint jobs as well.

That was quick.

How many months, now, have we been churning away in this cycle regarding Greece?

As long as the reserve currency for the world is a fiat currency with no physical backing by a physical commodity such as the gold standard. Then these bubbles will be made, and these cycles will do their course. Especially with uncle Ben, printing off money like it is going out of style creating inflation. It's a bad situation, and bad economics, but yet nobody wants to do anything about it, except some crazy lunatic from Texas. Okay, not going any further or it might get moved to P&R.

BF can barely handle discussions of bicycles. There is no way it can handle the complexities of advanced macroeconomic theory.

Wow! I'm glad the refs have replay and reverse penalties on occasion.

I showed the spider video to my wife last night. She was not amused and found it deeply disturbing.

mvnsnd 02-10-12 07:14 AM

I guess I'd better go take a look at it then.

Sorry about that. I guess I never actually read your name until now. I somehow my brain saw it as Scarecrow. That is too weird.
