Have you ever skied there? They do a nice job with the snowmaking/grooming. And there's some pitch to the steeper slope so you can get a couple of turns in.

valygrl 02-11-12 09:01 AM

Stupid snow. Screw it, I'm going skate skiing.

mvnsnd 02-11-12 09:45 AM

65 minutes on the trainer this morning. Yee ha.

Better than me. I did the rollers and gave up from boredom after 20 minutes.

I'm about to do this in reverse. That last 6 miles is gonna hurt.

I'll bet. Have fun.

3+ hours @ Mt. Peter. The skis rocked. My knee, not so much.

patentcad 02-11-12 03:02 PM

The Volkls carved that wimpy ass soft snow cat ice track crap like butter. High speed short swing turns in the fall line all morning. Didn't skid once. A little slower to turn than my last Volkls (wider radius turn profile) but they are the most solid and stable ski @ speed I've ever ridden. Right up my ski alley. They are 1cm longer and considerably wider than my last pair, so there's a lot more sq cm of plastic on the snow, but they weigh about 100 grams less.

Why on earth would you go skiing with your knee problems? Are you some sort of an idiot or something? Wait don't answer that.....

Velo Vol 02-11-12 03:15 PM

Snow is dumb.

I've been skiing for 20+ years with knee problems. Skiing doesn't bother it so much for the most part.

Did you get your supplies before the "big storm" hit?

BillyD 02-11-12 09:55 PM

RIP Whitney Houston.

There was some snow evident on roofs here this morning, but it appears the weather service is not officially recognizing it:

SNOWFALL (IN)
TODAY 0.0
MONTH TO DATE 0.0
SINCE DEC 1 0.1
SINCE JUL 1 0.1
SNOW DEPTH 0
Last winter at this time we had received 12 inches.

If you're getting your news from BikeForums, you're slightly behind the entire free world.

LesterOfPuppets 02-11-12 10:26 PM

I spent all day working near Elkhorn Mountain. Who needs news when you're out in the nature? :)

I'm good for maybe six hours, then I start wondering what is happening.

How did your assault on that climb go?

LesterOfPuppets 02-11-12 10:48 PM

Last place on the Strava segment :(
Story of my life! I took a different route up than I did last week and only got off the bike and hiked a few yards this time, compared to at least a quarter mile hike-a-bike last week, so things are looking up!

I also got reeled in by a dude on a Cervelo but he didn't turn and go up the big hill. Woosey!

And, to paraphrase David Letterman, coming down that hill is the most fun you can have with your pants on!

14ºF. Time to ride. Nice day out there today.

Soloist Assassin 02-12-12 07:14 AM

Did one leg drills yesterday for the first time. It sucked.
